Was a first round talents before getting hurt. Could have a lot of upside.
Speaking of Jays picks, I'd love to see the Jays take this guy with our 119th pick.

Huge lefty with power stuff would look nice next to our stable of huge righties. Pretty raw for a 21 year old, but big guys sometimes take time to develop.

Bush is a huge left-hander (6-foot-6, 240 pounds) with a solid power repertoire. He’s been 90-96 mph with his fastball, sitting mostly around 94 mph, with a better feel for commanding it than he had shown early in his college career. It’s heavy and there’s deception, making it tough to pick up. His slider is his best secondary offering, a breaking ball that flashes plus and has more top-to-bottom break than a typical slider. Though that has some curveball action to it, he does have a distinct, slower curve that isn’t as good of a weapon. Bush’s changeup is a work in progress, but he hasn’t needed it in competition.

Did the fisher cats get new gear? Those hats are beauties

SportsLogos says that logo was used from 2004-2007. Dunno if it's a change for this year or just a throwback.

EDIT: If you look at the Fisher Cats' team store they have a version of that cap with a red brim that's called the Road cap. And a full red cap with that logo called the "Stars and Stripes" version. But no version that looks identical to the one in that image. But they also don't have any fitted on-field caps that use the lettermark logo that SportsLogos says is current.

There's also their "Primaries" alternates and a Mexican/Latin heritage hat that's kind of cool.

I can always count on you my man

I don't know how Shatkins can watch Charlie and be ok with his managing. They seem like smart guys. Totally bizarre.

He's come around a lot since he started - I've liked his bullpen usage, the lineup construction has been excellent for a while now - but he has these weird, stupid little obsessions like the two-strike bunt and Joe Panik that just drive me nuts.

I'm not even going to blame the bullpen for that loss. They weren't at their best but they pitched well enough to give the Jays multiple chances to win the game.

That bunt call with 2 outs AND 2 strikes is just inexcusable.

There were no outs Espinal bunted with 2 strikes in the 11th. I missed part of the game, was there a bunt call with 2 outs in a different inning?

No, just that one. The 1B and 3B were like half way to home plate. The guys on the bases should have just started running honestly as there was no one to cover 3rd. Would have had a guy at 3rd with none out.

If you HAVE to bunt, why not bring in Biggio there instead as he's clearly.a better bunter and a LH against a RH pitcher. Instead they ask the guy with a sore neck to swing away with 1 out.

Rays offer glimpse into how Blue Jays could retool pitching staff - Sportsnet.ca

Still, even if Adames’ value was beginning to slip, he and righty Trevor Richards seem like a steep price for a pair of big-stuff bullpen arms, and may very well be indicative of how costly it will be for pitching-needy teams like the Blue Jays to get impact arms before the trade deadline.

There was certainly an immediate need-for-need element to the deal, helping lead to a rare May trade of consequence. But it’s hard to shake the feeling that clubs selling pitching this summer are positioned to enjoy Toronto-real-estate style bidding wars for their arms.

To that end, the more the Blue Jays can steady their rotation from within, the less they’ll have to dig into their stash of prospects to acquire the minimum one starter they need. Alek Manoah is top of mind right now, Thomas Hatch is building toward a return and Nate Pearson is going to factor, but Anthony Kay is very much in that mix, too.

.............

Hatch, fellow right-handers Julian Merryweather, David Phelps and Patrick Murphy, and catcher Alejandro Kirk are all on the 60-day injured list and when they’re ready to come back, the Blue Jays will have to clear space on both the 26-man big-league roster, and the 40-man roster.

The depth they’ve leaned on to overcome the spate of injuries to dog them this season will be threatened at that point, and they’d do well to housekeep their 40-man roster.

Another chance to do that looms at the trade deadline, and worth watching is how they handle some of their prospects who will be Rule 5 eligible for the first time this fall, infielders Miguel Hiraldo and Leo Jimenez and righty Eric Pardinho prime among them.

The Rays, already, have flashed their trademark ability to be clever and calculated. For the Blue Jays, the time and opportunity to be just as cunning is coming.

Based on a comment from Kaitlyn McGrath on The Athletic, Charlie's defence of Espinal bunting with 2 strikes is "he's gotta get that bunt down. He just has to execute." when asked if he should've taken the sign off once it was 2 strikes.

Or... and hear me out on this Charlie, because I know it's way outside the box and probably something that all the stats nerds are validating with their computers: maybe you could, I don't know, not bunt with 2 strikes because it's more likely to do harm than good?

I mean, when Buck and Pat are agreeing with the internet baseball community on the fact that something was a bad idea you know it's very obviously a bad idea.

What's sad is that he makes some reasonable decisions and seems like he's figuring out the things he should/shouldn't be doing. And then he turns around and does something like this. Or I expect that we're going to go back to wonky pen management after that Boston loss where he did the right thing in terms of what order he brought in Chatwood, Romano, and Dolis but it didn't work out because Dolis blew it. Because he'll stick with dumb moves come hell or high water, but not accept that there are going to be times where you do everything right and it still goes south.

Jays really pissed me off last night and I f’n hate the Rays. Hope that team relocates to a city that is not Montreal. I’m still steaming so I’m not watching tonight’s game but this is too positive not to share;

Vladdy is also leading the entire majors (position players and pitchers) in fWAR.

Would a Leafs win cheer you up? Not that we can trust them either.
