I would keep him for that bottom pairing with K.Miller. It would be more ideal that they find a more solid option outside the organization, but he played pretty good down the stretch for the Bruins - well enough to earn a more consistent shot IMO

That puck-mover to go with Miller/McQuaid? Or is that a scary pairing?

That's how I'd do it.

Chara - Carlo
Krug - McAvoy
Morrow - Miller
McQuaid

Morrow and Miller looked great together against Ottawa. Chara and Carlo work well together, and I think Krug and McAvoy can too because Charlie plays such great D. Not to mention, when Chara retires, that will probably be the first pair.

Not scary at all. If the Bs lose C.Miller, having Morrow's speed and puck moving prowess would nicely complement stay-at-homers like McQuaid/K.Miller.

I only hope they don't bury him on the 9th floor as they did last season.

Only way I could see them burying Morrow on the 9th floor is if they do the following:

Chara-Carlo
Krug-McQuaid
K.Miller-McAvoy
Morrow

I really hope we don't have both McQ and Miller in the lineup though, we need one, not both.

Morrow and Miller together would be a decent third pairing, if you were to ask me. I have thought all along Colin looked way better on the ice in his brief stints with the B's than Morrow, but Morrow wasn't horrendous in his most recent showing. At this point I think it's fair to say that Colin's probably getting taken by Vegas, like it or not, and this team needs somebody to take that bottom pairing spot. Unless one of the younger talents up and coming make some major impression, I'd have to believe that spot is Morrow's...

That is, unless this team decids Adam is more important to the line up. I don't even want to guess how things would go then.

A team like Nashville should grab him for the third pair

I thought he was pretty good in the playoffs and always looked good in the AHL

Won't ever come back to bite them. I sometimes just wonder why? He acquitted himself nicely in the playoffs with K.Miller playing 22+ minutes a night. Just lost Colin Miller for nothing. Worst case he doesn't make the team and you lose him on waivers or assign him to Providence with no cap charge. Still think he'll carve out a decent career as a #4-6 guy.

Quite possible it was a mutual parting of ways, maybe even requested from the Morrow camp.

Wouldn't be the first time a GM moved a player simply as a favour to the player and agent, so the player can see if he can find a better chance to play elsewhere.

agreed... teams earn cred if they treat their players well. this is how detroit convinced so many guys to join them the last 30 years... and part of the reason edmonton is a blackhole before bringing in the new admin

i am no scout but what i saw from morrow, i liked. i dont see him ahead of chara or krug though ... seidenberg before that... so i cant say he was miscoached

numbers game worked against him here... too bad he wasnt a right hand shot

That makes sense.

Kind of reminds me of Connolly situation. My initial reaction was that he wasn't a Sweeney acquisition, so they cut him loose. Meanwhile Tim ****ing Schaller is getting qualified. I wasn't a fan of letting Connolly go either.

He's a young NHL player that hasn't hit expectations, but he's still an NHL player IMO.

Have a bad feeling about this. But bruins have batch of young D that can replace him.

I feel like this is mostly true, but every year we hear the same thing. If it's so easy, why not let it happen naturally?

I don't know the player that well, but I feel like there's this O'Gara bandwagon that I am super skeptical about. For starters he was taken in the same draft as Joe Morrow (2011)....Like with Trotman, I feel like he gets talked up by a certain group of people... and next thing you know Trotman >> Hamilton. Who needs Hamilton.

Expectations of O'Gara and Grzelcyk seem pretty realistic however. At the same time, they are basically at the same age/development period as Morrow. People were willing to give C.Miller a million chances to prove himself. Morrow is slightly younger and has just 65 games to his credit as an NHL'er.

I have been pretty tough on Joe mainly due to what I thought was too much love for him on here and due to that they wouldn't constantly put down K miller . With all this said just when I was ready to really believe he had zero value and I didn't think he would even be in the nhl 2017/18 Boom the playoffs come along and due to injuries we are forced to dress him . He was really really good . I believe he turned a corner and now I didn't want to lose him especially with Colin already gone . I really hope he asked or it is money related . If it is money related I better not see any of these stiffs they call defenseman you guys are mentioning here signed .

I suppose it is not the end of the world, but I always liked Morrow's game, and thought he acquitted himself very well in the playoffs when he was called upon after spending so much time in the press box...

Wish him the best of luck wherever he goes

The Bruins lose Colin Miller for nothing and now this. They'll both end up elsewhere and do well.

But, hey, at least Boston still has Kevan Miller and Adam McQuaid in the top six! :shakehead

Quite possibly. I think that it's likely that Morrow ends up Buffalo or Montreal; both teams have a need for LHD. Colorado may even take him, given that the Avalanche need help on the left side, too.
