Morrow on the ice... i' m scared all the time. Guy was sat for almost half a season, so can't expect more then what he brings. But i didn't see what most seem to see. Thought he had difficulty to adjust Ottawa rushes, anxious with puck and panic and iced alot, got stuck with alot of long shift, was a couple of time gassed to death and takes some weard puck decision. As a forward, i would be cautious of my defence when he is on the ice ! I might be wrong though. But he is like the 9 th d on the team... with time maybe he could challenge the 5 or 6 spot. Don't see it though

Joe Morrow earning faint praise points from the local critics club. But it always comes with qualifiers plus add-ons. Meanwhile the pull-ups king Trotman used to fill out an empty sweater on first-pairing defence; some even felt he showed upside and had a good future as traffic cone. It's been a mystery up until now. Morrow gets to prove there is life after death.

Morrow is playing a cautious, conservative game right now. His strength is in his skating and he has yet to turn that skill loose. He seems to lack confidence. Not surprising, since he was allowed to decompose on the 9th floor for so long.

Yeah, it appears that some here just can't bring themselves to recognize that Morrow is playing extremely well in the playoffs and doesn't require qualifiers.

Fantastic post --I made my dislike of Trotman well known and could never understand his large following here (by many of the same people who saw little-to-no-value in Morrow).

he's been very solid overall, especially considering he was sitting for 3 months. he's prone to making some poor decisions at times (and the abundance of icings needs to be improved upon), but impressive so far. i don't think he's in much danger of being snapped up in the expansion draft - and hard to imagine he sticks around next year unless they commit to giving him a real chance to play. figure his agent will try to get him elsewhere, but we'll see how it shakes out.

I am one of those who thought that Morrow would turn out well, if only he were given a decent chance to prove himself. We're seeing what happens when a team shows faith in him. It's been so puzzling why he was passed over so many times.

It will be interesting to see what happens on defense next season. Although Morrow may not return, it would be great to see him back in Boston next season.

Chara-McAvoy
Krug-Carlo
Morrow-Colin Miller/K Miller
O'Gara

That could be a very solid back-end while the LHD prospects, specifically Zboril and Lauzon, get a year in Providence.

Yeah next year is going to be very interesting on D and a huge battle for the bottom 6 looms. That's why I've been pushing for taking a bunch of these chips and going and getting a big time LHD. We'll see if it happens, but the future on D is much brighter than two years ago. Don't know that Morrow will have much of a chance next year.

Morrow has all the requisite skills and physical checks

Going to be interesting what lies ahead for him

Jaffe said Kevan Miller is a must protect and can see McQuaid being snatched up

That right side is going to be freaking good

McAvoy
Carlo
K Miller

He's had a couple of good shifts but I can't help feeling anxious when he's out there in the defensive zone.

I feel the same way, seems like he he has the potential to make some really dumb plays, hopefully that is inexperience. Pasta too, makes some mind numbingly bad decisions but his positives outweigh them.

3rd or 4th line forward is his calling. I'd make the switch. He has speed and would be relentless on the fore check.

Although I don't think it's realistic, I actually wouldn't mind that if/when Carlo comes back. We need more speed and size up there on the forecheck (hi Kuraly) and I think I'd prefer Morrow up there to Beleskey or Spooner at this point.

I don't know about that. Maybe he was afraid to pinch in after that very risky pinch he made that worked out for the most part until his forwards hung him out to dry didn't cover for him and then Ottawa scored on a breakaway.

Good post. although I think the pull-up king is still here and played 36 mins last night.

Whatever analyst said that morrow always has a strong start and then drifts off was spot on.

No room for him here. He could succeed elsewhere with a little more playing time, but it's not here.

He did well filling in, but not well enough that I'd keep him over Chiller. See ya Morrow.

He exudes a sense of panic from time to time - it's a shame because his play leading up to these moments is usually pretty solid. I'm ready to move on from 'the trade'.

Well, with Miller gone, does that leave an opening for Morrow? I don't think he's a lost cause yet, he was put in a hard position last year in the playoffs and didn't do that bad. Maybe if they let him play some regular season games he could become serviceable. I don't think he's ever had steady NHL ice time.

I would keep him for that bottom pairing with K.Miller. It would be more ideal that they find a more solid option outside the organization, but he played pretty good down the stretch for the Bruins - well enough to earn a more consistent shot IMO
