So, we are 7 games into the season...Vesey is tied in 1st in goals and tied in 6th in points on the team...where are those few posters that said he should probably start in the AHL? ;)

This was a gem we picked up.

He's like, really good

He's Stepan if Stepan could skate and had hair.

Didn't think he'd be this good this quickly but the thought that he wasn't NHL ready after the pre season was really silly.

Said this in PGT. Originally i thought he had 40-45 point upside but i know it's early but I'm starting to think his upside may be higher than that.

I've said 60 from the start an i'm sticking with that. The amount of hate i got from that was sad.

He's so oddly slippery. He either has the puck or is open. I don't fully understand how he does it.

Hopefully he starts getting those pay checks and start saving a bit of money and come back next year with a new wardrobe. Really not a fan of a lot of his sweaters so far.

I want nothing more than for Vesey to keep this up. Looks great out there, helps us immensely as a free prospect and poopoos all over the narrative that he was a mediocre third liner no one should care about. After we got him, of course.

Will wait til 41 games in before I get too excited, though.

Vesey reminds me of Steve Larmer. When I see Vesey,I think of Steve Larmer from the Hawks days. I don't know why.

That's who he reminds me of only he's a bigger, stronger, better skating version of Larmer. I don't know how many posters here saw Larmer play but when the Rangers didn't have the puck he always was disrupting the attack of the opposition. Picking off passes and turning over pucks. He was a puck magnet and I'm seeing some of the same from Vesey. Larmer also knew how to put the puck away--he had a couple of Messier's tricks of being able to shoot with velocity off the wrong foot or to look left and shoot right and he played with grit and cunning. One of the smartest players that has ever worn a Rangers jersey. Vesey is getting goals though getting in between the circles. He uses his size, strength, skating, cunning in finding openings and he has great hands.

7 games into his career he's a legit NHL second line wing and by the end of the season he might be a legit 1st line wing.

We can hope. Larmer was an excellent two way player. Not sure that I see the same defensive acumen from Vesey. At least not yet.

But let's give the kid some time before we jump for joy. Like everyone else, I am excited for what he has shown and what he can become, but there WILL be valleys and downturns of play.

Much better than I expected him to be. He's been given every opportunity from AV, and so far he's taking it and running with it. Good for him. Hope he keeps it up.

The way he goes and takes the puck to the net is awesome. He has other good skills to but that is my favorite part.

Kid knows where to be most of the time. He was in a perfect position to deflect the pass from Nash(?) for his goal.

That kind of IQ is really nice to see in a player.

That line is doing well.

I'm amazed at how much better his skating has improved recently. Between that, and either his body or his stick being in the right spot, the kid just consistently knows when and where to make smart hockey plays. NBC highlighted it perfectly last night, but him keeping his stick down and tracking it through the crease (obviously plush Nash's ridiculous backhand saucer pass) was such a good hockey play. He and Nash both really feed off each other, and Stepan making some fantastic plays down low has really made that line so good.
