No wonder everyone on the main boards agreed the whole summer that this guy is overhyped and won't make a difference. What a piece of trash.

:sarcasm:

Have to tip my hat on this one...I pumped this kid up and had quite a few tell me he would never come close to 40 points...yea, i think he will easily hit 40 points.

Even I didn't think he would be THIS good.

This kid is a stud.

Where has Amazing Kreiderman been :sarcasm: I believe you have some crow to nibble on ;)

Bob McKenzie said one thing that stood out to me during the entire process. He said that there are a lot of scouts out there that at the time believed that Vesey was capable of scoring 20+ goals this season. That intrigued me, quite a bit. I wasn't sure if I believed it, to be honest.

However, watching Vesey play, it's apparent that his smarts and speed are far greater than I imagined they would be and that the scouts once again prove why they're paid handsomely to do what they do and why we're here posting on this forum.

What a grab. Best part about it is the residual effect it will have on future NCAA stars who go down the same route. You'll have Hayes and Vesey who have both had success in NY be able to talk to these kids and lure them in and they'll know that they'll have a chance to make an immediate impact with the Rangers, seeing the chances those two were given and how they were able to succeed.

McDonagh mentioned that Parise comparison or maybe it was Dan Rosen in that interview.

Yeah, having Hayes and Vesey come here and see immediate success will help down the road. It also helps as a lot of the top college free agents come out of the Northeast. I mean **** Boston and everything, but it's good to establish a "recruiting" presence in the area.

The Northeast/New England area is a hotbed of hockey, especially for college and prep hockey. It's a prime recruiting area and always has been, but now it's getting even bigger.

This is nothing but good for the Rangers.

The Rangers have a natural advantage in this environment as THE primo place to play close to home without having to be under the spotlight of home. And having the whole Boston mafia in the front office doesn't hurt either.

I did not know what to expect of this kid so I did not even guess after his signing, but starting at Traverse I saw something special in the kid. He showed very good hands and would go straight for the net. He knew how to finish. Since then I have seen he has much better skating that people spoke about before we signed him. His skating is actually very good for his size. This kid seems like a legit player. I almost never would say that about a rookie after 10 games but his skills have spoke for themselves. I'm very impressed so far this season. Now just tell him not to carry the puck in front of our own goalie! :)

I was in Europe for almost all of October, so I only got to see highlights and now have seen 3 games. This kid is impressive. Even if his goal scoring drops a bit, since he's clicking at 30% or so, he is a damn good hockey player overall.

He skates hard, plays well in all three zones, has some grit to go with his size and can really read a play as it develops, both offensively and defensively. Because of all of that and his linemates, I don't think this is another case of Oscar Lindberg last season. I'm sure he'll cool off a little on the goal scoring, but he's got all the tools and the hockey sense to continue to be an impact player on this team. He's not just cleaning up garbage around the net; he's finding holes and putting himself in great position to receive passes and get shots off.

Huge pickup for NYR after trading away all their 1st rd picks.

You said he belongs in the AHL prior to the season starting, so your crow's already in your stomach.

It's been ten games. There are players all over the league playing way above their heads right now. I just traded JAM for Zibanejad in my keeper league. Perspective, y'all.

I'll eat my crow on thinking Vesey needed seasoning in the AHL, that's fine.

I should probably hop over to the Pirri thread and make everyone kiss my ass in there, but I won't, because it doesn't matter.
