True. But which one would you bet is more likely to break out of his slump?
Which contract would you rather have?

We can hope- he reminds of what minor-leaguer Brett Seguin once said about a teammate of his on the Austin Icebats:
"NHL body, AHL skills, Pee-wee heart"- though it isn't entirely accurate or fair in Hayes' case, he has the first two but something is definitely lacking.

Panthers fan chipping in. Don't let the numbers fool you with Smith he has actually been playing alot better then his numbers are showing. Just getting 0 luck right now.
PS: Hope to see Cehlarik get a chance soon!
Considering the disparity in skill level and production to date, I'd take Smith's at 3.5 mil. Florida saw enough from last year's production to increase his contract by 1.5 per year starting next season. But the Panthers are 10 million under the cap and can afford it, whereas Boston is at 4.Which contract would you rather have?

Based on morning skate with Noel back and Heinen recalled, no Hayes tonight

one of the best games I`ve seen from Jimmy last night, looked good up there
Funny how many screamed for Hayes removal as if it would be the cure-all this team needed.
And he's taken out, and they lay an egg.
Not saying Jimmy needs to go back in by any means, but the problems go beyond Scoreless Jimmy.
Hayes, Kuraly, Blidh, Acciari, Randall, ect. Pick a 12th forward and all will overall be about the same. If the top 9 continue to not score, it wont matter one bit who the 4th line winger is

Nobody did that. Absolutely no one.
People just can't believe he is getting the persistent chance in the lineup given his lack of any sort of production throughout the ENTIRE season. There has been like one or two glimmers of hope the entire season.
No one thinks removing Jimmy from the lineup is a "cure-all". That's a grossly hyperbolic interpretation of the anti-Hayes sentiment around here.
Your right. Flat out, no BS, your right.
But you still haven't given me my permission to criticize Khudobin yet. I'm still waiting.

No faze Hayes. Doesn't care he dropped from 3rd to 4th and now healthy scratch. He plays the same way regardless without a shred more effort.
Maybe dropping him to the AHL would be good, it's not like any team is clamoring on getting a 2mil healthy scratch. AHL he may gain some confidence and again doubt anyone would take a chance on call back up.
Probably the most infuriating thing with Hayes.
He gave that ******** "I want to contribute more, I have to be better" and clearly did not work hard over the summer and did not change a single aspect of his game. He obviously didn't work on his skating, he obviously didn't spend enough time in the gym, he OBVIOUSLY did not work on his fighting. He gave the Bruins no reason to keep him with their club and he has been given FAR TOO LONG a shot this year.
Both parties need to move on. He's not going to get it ever if he hasn't gotten it by now.
That you, Jimmy?Just bad, bad karma playing here in Boston
