The only person to blame for Connolly not performing in Boston is Connolly himself. He got plenty of chances to assert himself and couldn't keep his job. It's on him. The fact that he awoke in his last chance to impress...is besides the point.

Hold on a minute, another way to look at this is Connolly is just 24 or 25 years old. They showed less patience with him than they have with Hayes who is a couple of years older. It is just maddening to see Hayes get trotted out there over and over again because he's a good kid and Sweeney acquired him.

Hahahaha.

This place is crazy sometimes.

Unless Connolly's agent asked Sweeney not to make him a qualifying offer, then the person to blame for Connolly not being in Boston anymore is the person who made the choice, who made the decision, to NOT make him a qualifying offer.

That person is Don Sweeney.

Period.

End of story.

Don't let the Sweeney supporters fool you.

The choice was Sweeney's to make. No one elses.

He chose wrong.

Again.

What sort of society do we live in where the person who makes the decision to do something, or in this case not do something, is not the person who is responsible.

Next time one of you folks are at work, and you choose not to do something, and your boss gets made at you for making a bad choice. Try blaming someone else for that bad choice and see how far it gets you.

Just an FYI after all this Connolly talk. Jimmy Hayes did not graduate from BC-left after his junior year. Could have gone back in the summers to earn his degree like Chris Kreider did but I don't think he did. If you listen to his interviews he repeats himself constantly. Vegas isn't going to take him with 3 points in the last year. I see a buyout or an add on to any trade we might make.

Hate to waste a buyout on that contract I have a feeling he lands in minors next year

Who's to say Connolly is the same player if he's still a B? And if he'd stink the place up again I'd bet the fist person to blame Sweeney for wasting a roster spot on that stiff would be you.

Please note that I was pro-Connolly last season, I think he did a decent job considering. But hindsight and all.

Hayes is the slowest , least skilled , "non-goon" player in the league, and has been all season. So annoying he's still on this team let alone in the lineup.

Kevin Hayes was interviewed by Pierre McGuire after the Rangers' 3-2 win in Columbus, in which Hayes scored a beauty of a breakaway goal.

McGuire told Hayes he thought he was the most improved player this year, and asked him what he attributes it to. K. Hayes said it was likely due to rigorous off season training in Massachusetts with Charlie Coyle and Ryan McDonagh.

I was SO hoping Pierre would have asked him if he ever considered dragging his brother along to the workouts.

It's odd watching Kevin Hayes, as he and Jimmy look somewhat similar in appearance, but the similarities end there.

Side note - the game winner tonight was from Jimmy Vesey.

I just don't understand what happens what Reilly Smith.

His off and on skill range is like PJ Stock to Sidney Crosby. I don't understand how it's possible to be so good at times, yet so ****ing horrible at others.

A true wonder of the hockey world.
