Going to play in juniors was just what this kid needed. He was a prospect I was feeling a little down on and now lots of hope for him.

The kid should have stayed in college imo but this is the next best thing. He wasn't ready for pro hockey so ita good to see him in the Dub and doing well.

Does anyone know what actually happened with the University of Minnesota? Was it due to the handling of his injury or something?

If I remember correctly his brother was originally committed to go there as well and is now in Wisconsin. It appears as something soured the Lucius family on that University.

If that was the case then transferring might have made more sense for Chaz. After such a small amount of games played at the college level I don’t see why he would think he was ready to turn pro. Just glad he is where he is now. Seems to be playing with a ton of confidence.

Maybe, but college is a lot more than just playing hockey. If you have a fallout and school isn't your thing I can see a young guy wanting out, especially if it comes with a signing bonus.

True enough, was more so speaking from a level of play standpoint. I think it is higher than the Dub but obviously lower than the AHL.

Anyhow he is in a situation where he can build some confidence. Hopefully he has a good summer of training and comes back ready for AHL hockey.

The same applies to Lambert.

Went back and read some of the pre 2021 draft scouting reports to remind myself why I was so high on him at the time. I think if the organization is patient with him he will turn out well.

Poor execution by the Jets.
No it wasn't. He can't apply for a visa until he was assigned to Seattle. The visa he would have needed to travel to the U.S to play road games with the Moose is a completely separate visa from the one he would need to live in the U.S and play for a U.S team. There is literally no way it could have been handled better.

Man, I wish the visa issues with Lambert would have been addressed prior, the guy is going to have really weeks of playing in competitive games.
That isn't how a work Visa works though. Until he was assigned to Seattle his employer was the Moose/Jets. He would have had a visa that allowed him to travel to the states to work. Once he is assigned to Seattle they are now his employer. His old visa is no longer valid and he needs to apply for an entirely separate visa that would allow him to both live and work in the states. There was no way for them to handle it ahead of time.

The lines I saw suggested that McGroarty was moved up to Fantilli's wing for last night's game. Anybody able to confirm this?

Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully they expedited his visa!
