Lambert such a bipolar player
Finns describe him as puck hogging and low IQ in Ligga , yet in past game he has shows awareness of teammates and makes great passes.
His line mates, competition level, coaching style, etc seem to make a difference with him. He looked terrible in the summer world juniors, great in the Jets preseason, mediocre with the moose. I think he has found the right place to play for the remainder of this year and maybe next year as well. I hope he learns to eat up the whl with his speed and allow his offensive game the time and space to catch up and develop.

I think he just needs to play in the right situation to hone his game before he moves up a level.

I agree. Plus I have no doubt he learned a ton playing with the Moose. There would have been performance objectives to try and attain, especially without the puck and in his own end, so he can now take that knowledge with him and light the lamp, and apply what he has learned.

Im gonna just leave this game alone and move on. Sometimes even the best of teams lay an egg (except Boston).

Leave Kuhlman in Montreal, I would’ve never thought I’d be pining for Appleton.

If there was one game on this roadie I really want, it’s stomping on the Laffs.

Wrong thread?

Because I had some time to kill before the game last night, and because I was more bored than Great Aunt Irene at Little Billy's Mario Kart tournament, I decided to go through all of the Jets 2.0's draft picks and map out how their careers have gone, and where they play now. so, out of every 1st round pick with the 2.0 Jets, only one isn't playing in the NHL (minus the younger guys)...I mean, that's pretty impressive

Outside of Samberg, who may or may not be more than a bottom-pairing d-man. The 2016 draft (after no-brainer Laine) all the way through 2018 looks pretty putrid. Stanley seems like no more than a number 6 or 7 defenseman, Gustafsson looks like a below average 4th liner (might turn into something better given this is his draft plus 5 season) and the rest of the picks looks like nothing more than career minor leaguers/occasional NHLers (ie Kovacevic) although there might be a small hope for Chisholm.

This is where the Jets current lack of depth on the third line stems. 2016-18 and possibly '19 looks like a giant dead zone due to poor drafting and lack of picks.

I wonder what could have happened after 2016. A certain director of amateur scouting retired. Also doesn't help that the Jets were looking like playoff contenders for three of those years. Still, you have to pull something out of the depth rounds, and can't just rely on your first rounders. Jets haven't been able to effectively do that.

It looks like they went for big and potential power those drafts and this org doesn't know how to draft and develop those types well.

Their niche is smart and skilled and they have a good track record with those types of players. Really only Trouba fit the bill of big and physical player with tools that turned into a good player for us. Most of the others haven't done much.

I'm glad we seem to have gone back to the smart and skilled template since 2019.

Lambert is listed as a scratch tonight, not sure what the deal is there. Sick maybe?
My hope - the coach commented about WJHC guys (they have 3 of them) being really tired...travel etc.

Makes little sense to healthy scratch him after 2 good games.
