Getting a few months of pro experience in the AHL to learn our systems and expectations before sending to junior could end up being a huge play. Can't really think of any other examples of teams doing this before.

I'm a little surprised that Lucius was sent to the W, not so much Lambert. For the Moose now, they have 8 NHL contracts to forwards on the team, and any injuries to the Jets forwards probably sees more callups. I'm not sure how good of a playoff roster the Moose will be able to field without those 2 guys, seems like they will have to rely heavily on contributions from AHL contracts. In terms of what is best for the players, I'm sure that is their objective.

Just noticed that of all starters in the OHL Dom DiVincebtiis is third in save percentage and 1st in GAA. So he's having a nice year.
I saw that earlier and really wondered after the first Canada game at the World juniors how they picked goalies for the team.

You didn't catch the TSN/Hockey Canada special where they had the monkey spin the wheel to pick the WJC goalies?
I still don’t understand how Gaudreau got the nod. I realize he was apart of the U18 team but he’s never had good numbers in the OHL, and this year has been his worst.

Granted, I’ve only seen him play in international tournaments, but his numbers don’t seem very strong. I know I’m a Jets homer but you’d think DD would’ve been a stronger option. Heck, even Hauser on the ICE has solid numbers and could’ve been an option.
