This is the right decision. He's not a driver in the AHL, and he needs more puck touches. Get him to where he can assert his skill and speed more.

Good call from those that called this months ago.

Edit: I do wish more junior players got some time in the pro leagues. I think it would help with all players developments. Even one game or two.

☺️☺️

He will be welcomed here with open arms. Trying to figure out how the lines will work!

Saw someone say there's a pretty good chance Lucius ends up in Portland as well, would make for some fun WHL watching.

I saw that as well, it’s someone that covers the Giants.

He needs to put up some points and get the offensive confidence back. I am hoping for ~1.3-1.5 PPG in the WHL against his peer group.

How is Lambert with the PP? The Birds are one of the worst teams in the WHL in power play goals

Hes very good at gaining the zone with control with his skating. He also looked good on the right HB in preseason, rookie camp and at times for the Moose. Other than that I don't really have much to add. I think if he gains some confidence and gets into an offensive groove he can be a plus pp player.

That is our teams one sore point, so if he can shore that up 👀

1.3 would be great, not expecting 1.5. Savoie is currently coming in just below 1.3 ppg and he was drafted much higher then Lambert and plays on an equally deep team.

1.4-1.5 range is the watermark for me in the D+1 season where if a player hits that then that is very encouraging for their chances as a top-6 player. 1.2-1.3 is decent. PPG or less then you start adjusting the ceiliing of a player downwards. Savoie's season is kinda disappointing to be honest, 1.3 ppg in d+1 for a player of his size would not leave me encouraged if I were a Sabres fan.

Hope he comes over after this year. MHL to VHL to KHL to VHL to MHL to VHL so on and so forth.
I was beginning to wonder if he was a bust. Good to see some points, too bad be couldn’t have made it here for junior.

He is a zone entry beast but that is all he brings at higher levels.

I am thrilled he is going to the CHL but I have low expectations for his actual raw point production.

He's all speed no brain. Help with zone entries but doesn't do much in the zone...against pros anyway. Would hope he shows a lot better with juniors or we've likely wasted a pick.

I think Savoie and Lambert were both drafted a little high based on how they were viewed as 15 and 16 year olds. Their play since then hasn't really supported that hype. Savoie's ceiling to me is Bryan Little. Reliable centre who can play in all situations, probably 50-60 point max depending on where he fits on PP.
