Obviously don't know all the facts or the process, but if the teams knew there was a good chance Lambert could go to Seattle after the WJs, why didn't they get Visa issues figured out a long time ago?

Maybe I don't understand Visas or the situation properly, but why was he allowed to play in the US with the Moose but not now with Seattle?

Chaz Lucius a goal and an assist so far in the 2nd period.

Moose were employer A, Seattle is employer B, generally for many type of visas you can't continue to use the same visa when you switch employers, not sure what type of Visa he is on but from personal experience there was always some paperwork involved when switching employers, I imagine it even moreso to be the case when you are switching employers cross border.

It looks like they went for big and potential power those drafts and this org doesn't know how to draft and develop those types well.

Their niche is smart and skilled and they have a good track record with those types of players. Really only Trouba fit the bill of big and physical player with tools that turned into a good player for us. Most of the others haven't done much.

I'm glad we seem to have gone back to the smart and skilled template since 2019.

Smarts and skills aren't handed out by size. We could have found some smart, skilled players who also had size. They do exist.
Lucius and Lambert are on the small(ish) side. Both listed as 6'1 so they may have decent size when they fill out. They have some skills. It remains to be seen if they have smarts.

Just a note, lambert was a healthy scratch last night. Word is visa issues. Hope to see him tonight. We are already down one of our top six guys in Gustafson (he was injured by a check from behind by his brother in Saskatoon)
Dang, man, getting injured from being hit from behind by your own brother? That’s rough.

YUP. he was our 2nd line Center as well. Likely be our #1 Center next year (unless he is in AHL) If we can just the entire team playing together for a few weeks before the playoffs, I think there could be something special here. Still Waiting on Lambert to clear Visa issues and Dach to come back from injury as well.

Going down to junior looks like it will be really good for Lucious. Raking up points feels good for an offensive forward. Nice confidence boost. It will also give us fans a better benchmark to where he is at with his development.

Yea I was jumping up and down screaming that Lambert really needed to play in the CHL and for me Lucius left college at least one maybe two seasons too early (obviously due to a falling out) so I think its best for Chaz too especially with the injury issues he has had. Really smart moves by our player development team.

Yeah, definitely a really smart move. Just like it was a really smart move of 11-year-old Frank Epperson to leave his sugary powder water concoction outside of his San Francisco Bay Area home overnight in 1905. The drink froze in the cold of the night and the next morning, Epperson ate the frozen mixture, licking it off the wooden stirrer. He dubbed the creation, “the Epsicle” and began selling it to classmates at school. It would soon further develop into the popular summertime treat the popsicle.

Up to 1 + 6 for 7 in three games now for Lucius, by the way.

Divincentiis second in save percentage and first in GAA in the OHL. Pretty astute pick grabbing one of the leagues best starters super late in the draft.
Haven't seen him play but just based on the numbers I was surprised he wasn't in contention for a spot on the Juniors team.
Going to see Lucious when Portland plays in Kelowna in February. Will be interesting to see if he stands out.
