I think teams like to get those top Russian kids over before they sign a 3 or 4 year KHL deal so I am hoping he comes over

Would he play junior or what league? AHL isn’t usually a good development league option for most Russian kids. I assume Chibrikov is two more seasons away from the NHL minimum.

I don't really mind the Russians staying home until they are NHL ready. Lets them focus on hockey instead of moving alone to a foreign country where 99% (pulling out of my ass) of the population don't speak the same language. I have doubts Kaprizov and Panarin would have developed as they have if they came over to NA as teenagers but there's no way to really quantify that - just my thoughts.

Would be fun to see how they do on the moose and see them live if they are brought over next season however

Rashevsky has one more year left iirc and I think the plan was to come over after that. Who knows with the world though.

100% agree. Russians that don’t play Junior here should develop in Russia IMO. The AHL is not a good league for guys to leave Russia for. Bring them over to the Jets when if they are ever ready.

Both Russians will be in the KHL for this tourney. There still hasn't even been a word about bringing them over, and probability is another Russian is leaving this team offseason.

I hope Perfetti is in the tourney, after being injured I think the Jets will want to get him tuned up. A Torgersson-Perfetti-Lucius line could be fun to watch. With Ville leading the defense.

Otherwise it will be the same as all the other tourneys, tune up some young guys, bring in some unknowns to compete for training camp spots on the Moose.

Yea he is the first outright bust but Stanley and Roslovic have not done anything to help the Jets cause either so I would say we have had 2 misses and one outright bust. Roslo has found a home in Columbus but he faded to black here. Stan is still a work in progress so there is always hope I guess but we need to start doing way better than this.

I won't stick a fork in it until I see how our entire team does under new coaching with a different structure. I am not expecting more than a bottom pairing asset which is a missed pick but I want to see this season play out.

Kuzmin should play! I wonder if swill go back to Flint for his last year of Junior or play for the Moose.

I hope he stayed in N.A. After the season…… As I believe he has some good upside. Seems like a good kid! I enjoyed seeing that draft day video with his Grandma…. In her apartment when he got drafted!

I don't think too small to play in the NHL, was ever the overriding view people were trying to put forward. Too small, as a singular add to the current core of our smaller D? Yeah, I am in that camp.

Hey PS. I should have said satellite radio. I was out at the lake and the weather was clearing up nicely, but way too much standing water to mow. So I decided to kick back on the deck and have a couple. Felt like some hockey talk and caught it on time. My biggest take away is how weak this draft is. All top prospects have some flaws in their game. Even Wright sounds like nothing more than a middle 6 2-way center at the NHL level. Certainly no one you trade PLD for. My biggest take away was Geekie who they had ranked at #23. Biggest knock was is inability to control the puck in tight to his body. They see this as a big knock against him being a point generator at the NHL level. To me he came off more of an Adam Lowry type, than a point getting #1 or 2 center. They didn't seem to really like any of the defenseman. In their eyes none will rise above a #2 or #3 in the NHL. Threw cold water on me entertaining any thoughts selling assets for picks in this draft.
