Barlow with 1G1A in a 6-3 win.

DiVincentiis saves 26 of 28 in a 3-2 win.

No points for Julien in a 4-3 shootout win. He's been cold lately and has been moved back down to the 3rd line the past few games.

McGroarty had an assist in a 2-1 win.
Thanks for all of these updates. Had forgotten about Rasher but I'm a big Salmo fan and it's good to see him putting up some points.
I don't think I've watched a Rashevsky game all year. His cold stretches have been really bad, just by looking at his game logs. Salomonsson is on a decent stretch point wise, 4 points in his past 3.

I've maintained for a while now that Salomonsson is one of our top 1-3 prospects. His skating is such a huge plus that it allows him to add risk to his game in the same way that someone like Nik Ehlers can or peak Erik Karlsson could.

Also a right shot, 6'2, and loves to hit. Looking forward to seeing him in Canada next year.

Salomonsson has developed into a top prospect, for sure.

He's 6'2" and will probably top end up at 195+ lbs (he was 185 lbs at training camp). He already uses his size and skating to shut down offense physically, and when he jumps into transition he just blows past opponents.

He scans the ice in his zone and makes quick decisions with the puck, with accurate, crisp passes, including sharp stretch passes.

Where his game has really developed is on offense. His puck-handling has improved and he's much more aggressive on the attack. His shot is very good. I would say the one area that he can still improve is his puck-handling to evade opponents. If he's able to start beating opponents one-on-one, he could be a real two-way threat.

At this point, he looks like an NHL lock; the only question is how high he rises.

Thanks to Aavco Cup for the shift-by-shift video. I wanted to highlight one play from his last game that I think illustrates his overall approach and capabilities.

At 7:29 in the video he first boxes out an opponent aggressively in front of his net, then keeps the pressure on during the puck scramble, and as soon as his team gets possession he's joining the rush (straight to the net-front), showing his good speed.

That's exactly how Bowness wants his D to play.

Here's a periodic reminder of the huge Andrew Copp trade that "Cottage" Chevy pulled off at the 2022 trade deadline:

To NYR: Andrew Copp (pending UFA)
To WPG: Morgan Barron, 2022 1st (Brad Lambert), 2022 2nd (Salomonsson), 2023 5th (Milic)
A lot of potential in that deal for what turned out to be only 36 games of Copp in a Rangers jersey.

A solid bottom-6 winger, our best Center prospect, our best D prospect a and our best goalie prospect... all in 1 trade. The picks the Jets made really put this trade over the top.

Pretty solid return for Copp. Of course, that was a two-pronged effort between Cheveldayoff and his scouting team. Could have easily gone the other way had the Rangers not made the ECF, had the scouting staff not done their due diligence, etc. However, badgering about what could have happened doesn't matter in the scope of what did happen. Chevy seems to have knocked this one clear out of the park. Very happy with that return.

Agree. Even if it was Barron, Salomonsson, another 2nd round pick, and Milic, that was a big trade.

Especially for 22 games of Copp's season before he was gone anyway!

Watched the shift by shift for Salomonsson and a few things jumped out. He carries himself with an air of confidence that is certainly beyond his age (teenager). He is very comfortable playing against men and asserting himself in all area’s of the rink. I assume he will be playing for the Moose next season.

I think we all have been very impressed with this kid. IMO at least, it has been a long while since we have had this quality of D prospect. Moose next year makes sense, but I have a feeling he will push his way into the NHL sooner rather than later.

There have been many top shelf defence man from the second round. Jets were due for a gem. Numminen was out last.
