Tuned into the London game for a bit after they'd already secured a big lead and I hope that it's the reason Julien was floating everywhere and playing incredibly lazy. He's been on a bit of a cold streak lately and you'd hope that he'd be working to get out of it.

On a separate note his linemate Gazizov looks really good. He's undrafted and an overager but has great vision and shot. Hopefully the Jets have their eyes on him as a potential signing.

Brad had such a long way to go that I find it hard to believe he would be ready next year, especially for a top 6 role - but I haven't actually seen him play this year. It is certainly possible. It would be huge to fill that 2C spot internally so soon.
I think he should get some games at the beginning of the season if he continues his trend. Then go back to the A for most of the season. He will then be ready by late season or the following. More or less the same as they did with kfc

Lambert and the Finnish hockey powers that be clearly had some sort of beef given his Liiga and Juniors usage. He didn't even get selected for the Juniors team in his final eligible year. He definitely has things he needs to work on, most notably his defensive play seems to be reliant on him hooking players non stop, but I put a lot more value in his play in the AHL right now than I do his play in Liiga.

So what's our top draft positions now? Two seconds?

Absolutely. But I would still be very surprised to see him NHL ready next year. Not saying it couldn't or wouldn't happen. Only that I would be surprised.

False. He wasn't eligible for the 2023-24 tournament. 12 days too old.

That said, you're partially right: Team Finland has some of the most braindead selection criteria with regards to the WJC tourneys. For example, they regularly leave NCAA-committed prospects off the team as a means of promoting the Finnish hockey development system (which is a total disaster right now). In some cases, they've had some quite clear "I don't like you" -related snubs. Lambert could very well have become one, given how his Liiga tenure went, but I don't think he ever got robbed out of a spot on the team.

Thanks for the correction, I misremembered.
