He's such a beautiful skater. His edgework makes me think of Morrissey. Was hoping for more from him offensively this season but he looked really strong every chance I got to watch him which is no small feat for a physically immature player in a men's league.Salomonsson is one of the most interesting player reviews I have read in the Black Book 2022. So much to unpack. Maybe best summarized by Mark Edwards final quote:
“I remember driving to Gatineau and having a good talk with our scout in Stockholm about the huge
gap between my best and worst viewings of Salomonsson. His best games were very impressive. Johan is a big fan and would rank him higher, but he didn’t get enough support from the rest of us.” -

DiVincentiis >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MilicI know you guys have your goalie of the future, but Milic just killed a 5-3. He got a standing O and people chanting his name at the media timeout
No apologies necessary! I've been a fan of Lambert for years (@surixon has had the chance to tease me for guaranteeing that Wright and Lambert would go 1-2 in the draft awhile ago but has been gracious enough to not bring it up ) There has been a lot of cases of players underperforming in men's leagues in Europe and falling in the draft because of it. You see "low offensive ceiling" thrown around a lot, Lambert, Lundell, and Raty being a few very recent examples (Hertl as a less recent example), when in reality it's just kids playing in men's leagues and either not being physically developed enough to keep up or not given the opportunity to play in a role where they're expected to produce offensively. Still a huge fan of Lambert's and even if he doesn't pan out I'll still feel like he was well worth the gamble where we got him.Thank you for asking and sorry for the delay, for I have been caught up in exam preparation and job hunting. Anyway, my favourite prospect overall is probably "Big Bad" Brad Lambert. I'm really rooting for the kid, especially after what's his name and that other jackass were shit-talking him all of last summer. I think there's a top-six player there.
I echo your thoughts on DiVincentiis. I am trying to temper my expectations on him, being a seventh-round pick, but he looks impressive. I am hoping he'll be on the Canadian junior team this December, and I hope we can get him signed. Lord knows we could use a good goalie prospect.
I haven't seen much of Salomonsson yet, unfortunately, but I'm liking the reviews on him, and I'm encouraged by the fact you think highly of him. Maybe he can be that solid RHD prospect we are clamouring for. What do you project him as, currently? I recognize we've got a ways to go with him, but I am curious of where he could potentially end up.
I do hope after the draft to publish my full top 25 Winnipeg Jets prospects to the boards here. I am hoping I will find the time to do some in-depth research.
Anyhow, thank you for taking the time to engage with me on this. I am also appreciative of your updates on our prospects throughout the season. Keep up the good work.

When it comes to goalies, and this shouldn't be too surprising, but putting up better numbers pre-NHL translates to putting up better numbers in the NHL. I was a huge fan of Dustin Wolf before he got drafted but he fell to the 7th round because he's shorter than the average goalie and now he's Calgary's goalie of the future. Basic physics shows that tall goalies don't actually have much of an advantage over shorter goalies, yet taller goalies are always drafted higher because in a perfect scenario, the taller goalie will reach their full potential and the slight advantage that their height gives them will make them better than the shorter option. In reality, a shorter goalie that saves more than a taller goalie pre-NHL is likely to save more in the NHL. That's a roundabout way of saying that goalie scouting is broken and that I'm much more concerned with the numbers they put up than where they're drafted.
I'll never speak in absolutes (after being so horribly wrong about Wright and Lambert) but I'm very excited about Salomonsson. He didn't put up the offensive numbers I was hoping for, but he also wasn't leaned on offensively by his team. As an 18 year old he was trusted to play 2nd pairing in the 3rd best men's league in the world (in my opinion) and he was a net positive. That's very promising to me.
I look forward to your top 25 should you find the time!
Keep the updates coming..they're great...and thanksI know you guys have your goalie of the future, but Milic just killed a 5-3. He got a standing O and people chanting his name at the media timeout
Lambert’s goal
I would consider using a pick on him if we can deal for a couple more picks. Jets are pretty light on picks.I know you guys have your goalie of the future, but Milic just killed a 5-3. He got a standing O and people chanting his name at the media timeout

Some interesting numbers from that small, twice passed over in the draft goalie.I know you guys have your goalie of the future, but Milic just killed a 5-3. He got a standing O and people chanting his name at the media timeout
Yeah, the problem now is Transition has turned into his worst area It's only 98!View attachment 689393
He’s not just a puck carrier/offensive guy anymore. Very far cry from what we saw in the WJ, Liiga and end of his stint in the AHL. He’s turned into a complete player. CHL was the right move for him. Now the challenge will be playing this same game at the next level. But we know he CAN do it.
Slot pass success needs some work as well.Yeah, the problem now is Transition has turned into his worst area It's only 98!
I know it’s very early but so far 5 of our 7 prospects from last draft (2022) are having really solid D+1 seasons. It reminds me a bit of the 2015 draft where I had about 5 prospects I was keeping my eye on.
I have 6 of 7 having good years. McGroarty, Lambert, Zhilkin, Salomonsson, Wagner and DiVincentiis. I would argue if Lambert went to the WHL at the start of the year he would be right up there with Bedard in points.
