Sincere question from a Leafs fan...
Why did Dylan Guenther get so little time on O.T.?
Schmaltz has that move too. Got no idea why he doesn't go to it anymore.I think we need to sign Radom Vrbata, to just sit on the bench until we have a SO

Sergi ended up playing 26TOI and a +1. Should have traded him at TTD.Sergi turnover cost us a goal.
Young man, +/- is a team stat, I am glad Sergi was out there when our team scored. I didn't hate Chychrun and I sure don't hate Sergi, he is a good 2D. What I point out doesn't show up in that stat sheet you look at. Sergi had a lapse and last game Durzi had 2, and Keller 1, that cost us goals and maybe both games. Just like you and others were enamored with Chych because of his points, while I pointed out he wasn't a 1D because his D play is average. Sergi/Durzi produce points but are not good on D, very similar to Chych actually, although Sergi is a bit better on D than Chych.Sergi ended up playing 26TOI and a +1. Sergi and Chychrun have way more positives than the negatives you always bring up. Sergi is averaging TOI 25 min. and Chychrun TOI 21 min. Their coaches trust them and believe in their overall play.Young man, +/- is a team stat, I am glad Sergi was out there when our team scored. Mistakes kill you, I just pointed out who made them, you would have to watch the game (closely) to know that.
Cooley has not looked good for 3 straight games now. A lot of plays are dying on his stick. Good thing Schmaltz has been peaking and Keller is … well … ever steady Keller. We need a couple of Cooley points
They are both above average D overall, there is your positive. The TOI stat, stat man, doesn't mean they are really good D, just better then other D on their team and maybe more PP minutes increase the stat, not going to bother and look, doesn't make either good in their own zone.Sergi and Chychrun have way more positives than the negatives you always bring up. No, it's tallied at the individual level. It's a team sport, and a chaotic one too, so I don't like drawing conclusions from +/- over small periods. Over longer periods though, it can tell us a lot about how an individual handles his opportunities.Young man, +/- is a team stat
If a team is below .500 and a player plays a lot of minutes, many times that player will have a minus. Doesn't mean he is a bad player, it could mean just the opposite. For that reason I like using +/- for a certain game. Not saying that is right or wrong. No, it's tallied at the individual level. You want all players to be an all star defensively. Doesn't work that way. With all the injuries Utah has had on defense this year, I'd hate to wonder where this team would be without Sergi. He has been an absolute workhorse. Plays big minutes, on PK and PP. If Sergi is so bad defensively, like you have said, I doubt AT would play him on the PK. I would love to have all players all stars on D, we would be a great team. I didn't say he was bad, he is barely above average on D, he partly gets more TOI because of his offense and our lack of better D on D. Seregi is a #1D on offense and a 3D/4D on defense, overall a #2D. I like Sergi, but he and Durzi have made some critical mistakes in recent games, turnover, missed assignments that wound up in our net.You want all players to be an all star defensively. He's so good, I don't know why they waited until late in O.T. to give him a chance. He had 1:48 in OT.
Affected partly by Nylander line's 2:24 shift when Utah had the Leafs on their heels.
Marner 2:13 and Matthews 2:31.
