Quillan was also instrumental in Quinnipiac’s victory over Michigan as he had 2 goals and 1 assist in that game.
Seems like a clutch player in big games. Would be a nice free agent signing.
Apparently he’s attending developmental camp this summer so it’s entirely conceivable he will sign.Quillan was also instrumental in Quinnipiac’s victory over Michigan as he had 2 goals and 1 assist in that game.

@hardystarI was at the game, he was generally in good position and made a few highlight type saves. It will be interesting/exciting to watch him develop.
Glad to see Lambert's game is progressing in WHL. Seems to have missed last two playoff games, not sure why.
WHL Stock Watch: Brad Lambert's a complete player in Seattle
This month's WHL Stock Watch offers an update on Brad Lambert, Connor Bedard, Matthew Savoie, Matthew Seminoff, Nolan Allan, Zack Ostapchuk, and Carson Latimer.eprinkside.com
I am not a goalie expert by any measure. But based on what I saw I don't think there was anything that he should have not let in. Mississauga put quite a bit of pressure in the 2nd and 3rd and he made some very good saves to keep the lead. If I am not mistaken he was the 2nd star of the game (they announced it but none of the stars of the game skated on the ice).@hardystar
When you say generally in good position, do you mean he got scored on 4 times and should have got scored on 4 times? Or are we talking he should have put up a snowman this game but got lucky with a bunch of missed shots or something?
Are we dealing with a Pavelec in sheep’s clothing here?
I don't think anybody here has much hope of him becoming an NHL player any more, I'd still like to see him succeed in Europe though.Vesalainen looked very mediocre in Liiga playoffs against Tappara. Can score against weak teams but disappears against good teams. Never going to be NHL player.
I can't think of a single player who has played 4 AHL seasons without getting a single NHL game who went on to be an NHLer. The idea that Gawanke is even close to Pionk in terms of talent is misleading. He's just not a good enough defender, but he's a PP leader, the guy who took over for Niku. Might get another year, with a raise in his AHL salary, above $125 000, as I think the Moose won't be looking to Lundmark or Bauer for PP time. After that I think Salomonsson gets his time to shine.Luke Green? He's been in Europe for the past 3 seasons. Well, 2 and a bit. No other green on the Moose that I can see.
Maybe my answer should be that there will be lots of room on the Moose next year with Chisholm, Gawanke and Heinola all graduating to the Jets after Schmidt, Dillon and Pionk are traded.

Chisholm and Heinola I see competing for a spot in TC. Heinola should move up, if the organizational order is still the same as it is this year, where that leaves Chisholm is beyond me, could be #8, could pass through waivers. Quite likely Stanley isn't back. Who else gets moved I guess depends on the market, and the value.
I think the Jets as an organization will want some quality LHD behind Kuzmin, as no 1st year player will get promoted from the Moose. Heinola was an exception because of circumstance. And technically went from NHL to AHL to Europe, to AHL, to taxi squad, to NHL. I don't know if Ashton Sauntner has played well enough to get another contract, I also don't think he's NHL material, so we'll see what kind of moves the Jets make organizationally.

I still don't think Gawanke will make it...he's never been a good defensive player, and that's the difference between AHL success and NHL success. In fact he's been an early cut from every TC. No reason to believe that his PP success is something that other teams are banking on. Every team in the NHL has a PP QB that is a level above Gawanke. He might get lucky and somebody takes a chance on him, but I see that as highly improbable. He's more likely to cash out playing in Europe. You're taking this too seriously. My comment was facetious.
That said, Gawanke won't clear waivers next year, IMO. That means some NHL team will give him a look. I think he has earned a callup that he never got. It will be determined in TC.
If Jets are rebuilding next year then at least 2 of those 3 Dmen I listed should be gone. But who knows? Maybe they are kept to keep us above the cap floor, or to provide some vetiness for the young guys, or some combination of that. But we have several Dmen who are excellent at the AHL level. It is past time to see if any of them have what it takes for the NHL.

I can see a market for Pionk moreso than Schmidt. If I had it my way Heinola and Dillion is the third pairing next year and Chisholm takes the Stanley PB spot. That would mean we'd have to move Schmidt.
I can't see Chisholm pass through waivers.
Schmidt to Columbus for a 4th (apparently they need a vet 4/5 LHD)If I had it my way Heinola and Dillion is the third pairing next year and Chisholm takes the Stanley PB spot. That would mean we'd have to move Schmidt.

So there's this burger place I think you should try . . .If I had it my way Heinola and Dillion is the third pairing next year and Chisholm takes the Stanley PB spot. That would mean we'd have to move Schmidt.

He can handle the puck!
I honestly think Vancouver is dumb enough to give us a first for Stanley, I shit you not.Schmidt to Columbus for a 4th (apparently they need a vet 4/5 LHD)
Stanley to Vancouver for a 2nd or Hoglander is something I’d be good with.
But we have Lambert. No need to worry.Vesalainen looked very mediocre in Liiga playoffs against Tappara. Can score against weak teams but disappears against good teams. Never going to be NHL player.
