One thing I've really started to notice is pucks don't find Lambert all that much in the offensive end which is unlike other good offensive players. I think it lends some credibility to the school of thought that he doesn't read the game as well as some of his peers.

I was just going to say the same thing.
How does he go through entire games where he hardly touches the puck.
When it does come to him he fumbles it a lot and doesn’t get control.
He likes his perimeter too. He’s frustrating to watch.

He's years away from being a good player if that. He needs to go to the dub and touch the puck a lot.

Have not been excited by any of the Jets 1st round picks for a while now...not a fan of drafting the guy that is plummeting in the rankings. Usually there is a reason.
Ehlers into Kyle Connor into Laine..All dominant prospects..We got spoiled in that 3 year timespan. The only prospect in that stratosphere we've gotten since 2016 is Perfetti in 2020. Wells a bit dry on high end talent.

I think Lucius and Ruttiger are the closest to the NHL of our prospects at the WJC.

Lucius game is high impact due to his shot. He's going to be 2nd line RW/PP but never a guy you want matching up against other teams best, he'll 100% need shelter. Like if he was on the team now I'd have him glued to Dubois but if we had a lead late in the game I might put a more responsible guy up on that wing for the last 10 mins of the 3rd.

Lambert worries me. I see nothing in his game outside of transition and I don't feel he'll get those looks in the NHL. He's awful in both zones.

With Lambert, his tools (skating and hands) are good enough that you hope that he can carve out a career as atleast a bottom-6 penalty killing type player even if he is not a top-6 player. Those tools should translate if can apply himself defensively if he is willing. Like a prime-Burmistrov type (2010-2013).

For what it's worth: TSN has the Canada vs Slovakia game listed as starting at 5:00PM and not 5:30PM. The IIHF still lists it as having a 5:30PM puck drop so TSN is probably planning to have a 30 minute pregame.

His development has been so stunted that I’m not even sure his hands can count as a plus anymore. When you see him with his age group or with the Moose his puck skills don’t really stand out aside from a lot of weak plays he makes that end in giveaways.

They’ve got to get him to the WHL and hope he can rekindle something. At this point I don’t really view him as a prospect. Can probably sign guys out of NCAA any year who would fit better as a pro.

Hah imagine not viewing a 19 year old as a prospect….

Thought Brad had a good first period. He's at his best when he can wind up through the NZ. He blew past a player and made a good centering feed that was just missed.

What I liked is he was really hounding the Swedish defense and as a result forced some turnovers and he won some pucks and got some more touches. I think this is likely how he's going to have to play if he wants to be successful. He doesn't find the soft ice as well as some so he's going to have to battle for and win pucks to get his offensive zone touches. He can then let his skill take over once he has gotten the puck. I found the last few games he was floating around in the ozone waiting on his linemates to win pucks and as a result he wasn't really involved in the game.

With going to seattle, hopefully, the game should slow down for him and let his brain catch up. Watching ehlers play in junior in his D+1 year, everyelse was moving in slow motion. Lets see if he can benefit in the same way.

Does Seattle have an open import slot?

With how many Seattle fans have asked about him I'm assuming they'd probably clear a spot if they don't.

Edit: Checked and it appears they aren't using any imports so they should have room.

The puck just seems to find Wagner, it's too bad he hasn't been able to bury more of the chances he's gotten. And not to take anything away from him because I also think he does well to create the space to get those chances.
