Oh and the answer to McDavid line is not likely to be slow as molasses Lowry. Scheifele line handled them fine in the 1st and the 3rd. Having Forbort match up against McDavid was maybe not the best idea? Draisaitl line would have been more his pace.

Yeah I am surprised Moe choose to match the defense as he did.

Having said that Morrissey and DeMelo pretty much neutralized Draisaitl all game so I guess he was right about that pairing against the Draisital line.

I would have matched speed on McDavid and Lowry against Drai. But hard to argue with Ehlers against Drai as they crushed it.

I'm not really sure how you can really blame Brossoit so much for that game. Both games the guy gets pretty much 40 shots against, both games on a back to back, and when your one Dman takes a couple horrible penalties and you leave guys wide open infront of the net, unless your a brick wall I don't know how your supposed to stop every shot. Not saying the first goal wasn't his fault but with that bad Copp no goal call, might have been a bit different. I really hope we destroy them Tuesday and when PLD plays them for his first time in our jersey, he scores a hatty.

Quick thoughts...

81-55-26 Horrible game from the top line. Weak in their own zone, lackadaisical on breakouts, and no energy in the offensive zone. Looked like they had no legs, which isn't a huge surprise considering how hard Maurice has been playing them.

9-25-27 Another good game. I really liked Ehlers again. He's added some deception to his game. Stastny played a smart game, but looked half a step slow. Copp with a strong game... too bad he was a bit out of position on the winning goal.

85-17-22 Another strong game from this line. Nice to see Perreault playing well. He looks fit and healthy. Lowry is having a strong season. Appleton was okay.

12-19-23 Not a great game for Lewis. Some poor decisions. Gus was fine. Smart play, but still needs a bit more speed. Harkins was really good.

44-2 Finally a strong game from Morrissey, and a much better game from DeMelo than last night overall. Calm and smart.

24-4 Okay overall, though Pionk gave up a bit too much on the rush. Forbort was solid defensively.

64-88 Here's the thing about this pair - they can have a generally solid game, and then have one or two horrible shifts that cost a goal or penalty. They don't add enough to give up those bad plays and shifts. Stanley still shows that he's progressed, but he'll need to play with a better partner than Beaulieu. Together they are trouble brewing.

Brossoit was pretty shaky, with pretty bad rebound control.

Overall, a really disappointing loss, but hard to expect much more in the 5th game in 7 nights.

Looked to me Jets came out good in the first, lots some of their legs in the second perhaps tired from schedule and tried to hang in there in the third and did make it a dog fight. Crazy schedule this year, this will happen again and will happen to all teams.......rest up now and come out next get vs them and win.

Winter is Coming
The overplaying of 55 and 26 will be Maurice's eventual downfall.

Seriously they looked gassed tonight.. playing 25 minutes a night with a compressed schedule.. it's gonna catch up.

It's not like lines 2 3 and 4 weren't good. They were very good. It's odd. it's not like we don't have the depth to even the minutes out

Yeah not at all disappointed with the effort. They played real hard, just some mistakes by a usually solid dmen coat us tonight. Onwards to Tuesday.

Beaulieu out for the entire last two minutes was a bad idea - great game for the Jets though considering it was back to back

Really liked Morrissey's game, 2nd and 3rd lines were dominant

Heinola would have helped - as expected Stanley is just a shade too slow for a team like this

This team can easily win the Cdn division if Mo doesn't gas his top line... sure hope Ehlers-PLD-Copp becomes a thing

I don’t hate Appleton as a player but another annoying little thing is how he has become a third line lock while Harkins has to wallow on the fourth or in the PB. What exactly has Appleton shown that Harkins hasn’t?

I think the only thing is that he shoots right and Harkins left. The hole is at RW, not sure Harkins has ever played RW.

That was a painful loss. I was very looking forward to going 5 and 1. I never remember any jets team doing that.

If Dubois can be the player we hope to be I truly hope it results in more balanced ice time.

The Scheifele line had a GF% of about 20 this game but please go on.

They were also glued to Forbert who was getting lit up, tough to untangle how much of it was them or Forbert. Doubt results would any different tonight regardless of the forward matchup as long as Forbort who was clearly out his league tonight was back there.

I don’t disagree that Forbert was a disaster this game, though the tying goal was with Morrissey and DeMelo and Scheifele let the pass through and Wheeler lost his man without much resistance at the top of the zone. And while the underlying numbers were worse than usual for the top line, historically they have been extremely poor in their own end so it still makes little sense to have them out in a situation that calls for strong defence.
