MC David and Drai is top 5 players.

They will beat most match up.

Then again Coach Mo likes to ride his top line best on best no matter who's in the next line.
That CSW will not win most night vs. Better top lines. Analytics should see that , ask Chevy :sarcasm:
Even if any other lines are playing better.

Next game.
Cant win all of them..
Everyone on earth except Paul knows that the Scheifele line sucks on D. There are many things about being an NHL coach that are difficult but some things are so obvious that it takes an insane amount of negligence to ignore them.

God I hope PLD holds Scheifele accountable, does he just outright not want to play defense?
I get the run and gun logic for that line, but ffs not when closing out the last few minutes, up a goal.

That one is on DeMelo and Brossoit. Brossoit was really bad tonight, even though he didn't give up any absolute howler goals, his rebound control wasn't good and he almost never seemed to smother any pucks to allow things to be calmed down. Decent game overall for it being the second part of a back to back. The ending sucked. Deserved atleast a point I thought.

Harkins barely played but I liked him when he did. Maybe give him a look in the Appleton spot?

Dubois can't get here fast enough. Gives us a strong matchup center.

It stings a bit that the f**ing Oilers were able to just take that game back away from them. A contender can close out a game like that.

The best team in the history of modern hockey had a 5-0 third period lead in a playoff game against the worst team to ever make the Stanley Cup playoffs (16 of 21 teams made the playoffs, and they finished 17th overall) and they lost, both that game and the series. Victory is not a deterministic matter of force of will. Shit happens. And boy oh boy, did it happen here.

That hurts. Thought the team showed a lot of heart battling back when they likely had next to no legs.

Brossoit played well, wasn't at fault for the goals against.

Morrissey played his best game of the year. He was real good both ways tonight. DeMelo unfortunately wears the goat horns, poor coverage on the game tieing goal and took that needless last minute penalty.

Forbert and Pionk struggled against McDavid tonight. Forbert got chewed up and made poor decisions all game long. Pionk did what he could but is outmatched against that line.

Beau and Stanley were OK but got exposed badly when Moe wasn't able to shelter them

Top line got caved in tonight. Possibly the big minutes finally caught up to them as it didn't look like either had their legs.

Second line with another strong night. Ehelers was buzzing, Stastney has found his legs and Copp just keeps mucking.

Third line had their moments and could have have had some more goals.

Fourth line had a strong night. Harkins looks great and Gus had a nice debut. Lewis just works hard.

The team played hard and dug deep in a tough schedule. No real complaints with the effort tonight.
Couldn’t agree more with your post game analysis tonight. Well said.

It's always a combination of things. Brossoit did not look good here, CSW were dreadful and it didn't help that Maurice insisted on matching them with the McDavid line. Lot of no show performances from our D tonight, poor roster management in general. There are a lot of warts with this team, I want them to succeed but holy shit they are frustrating.

Oh and the answer to McDavid line is not likely to be slow as molasses Lowry. Scheifele line handled them fine in the 1st and the 3rd. Having Forbort match up against McDavid was maybe not the best idea? Draisaitl line would have been more his pace.
