Just wanted to point out that at this early stage of the season Pionk is beating Jacob Trouba in both points and +/-.
I could never understand the valuation that the analysts around the league would give Trouba. He was solid defensively most of the time, but routinely made a lot of bad decisions with the puck. Highly over-rated and over-paid IMO. I expected very little from Pionk but he's doing better than I thought he'd do.

Is the narrative that Helle "bailed us out"? Really?

Demko had equally as many game saving stops as Helle did, if not more.

Trouba is a bona fide 1RHD and JMo misses him as a D partner......same goes for Trouba, he wishes he had a partner like JMo.

No way! I think it's understood that this game was a solid team win! The whole team gelled. And Helle was awesome and is looking dynamite this season.

Biggest win this year, and something to build on!

Helly a top 5 netminder in the league right now!

Patchwork D getting better, Beauleu strengthed the D and addition by subtraction of the Potato and the Dullstrom also helped, Sbisa still sucks but at least he is better than those two, a healthy Niku should push Sbisa out of the lineup!

Looks like my tough luv on Roslo paying off!

Connor, Ehlers and Laine (if he ever scores again) the top forwards this season, Wheeler in decline and Schief, who knows what's going on with him!

Good win!

When tanev was hobbling around on the penalty kill ,Jets should have used him as a screen for a second "kill shot". See if he gets up again.

I don't think I have ever seen anyone stand in one place, in such pain, for so long before.

I don't think it was pain - in his comments after the game, he said his leg went numb - which would explain why he stood there so long.
It's gotta be a horrible feeling to be standing upright and not being able to get off the ice

Jets made me feel better about our chances tonight. Stetsons off to The 'Buck and Rosie is finally showing he can play at an Ehlers level. Keep it up! The next stretch is going to be important and a good test to see if this team has the mojo to compete.

The biggest takeaway from this game (which will go completely unnoticed by Paul Maurice) is how energized Wheeler and Scheifele finally we’re... while apart from each other.
That’s a loud and clear message.
Not really the biggest takeaway but both played well. I think Maurice will notice both of them took on a lot of responsibility to drive both their lines.

And look at the TOI distribution: no forward over 20 min, no forward gets gassed. Take note, PoMo.
I would like opposing team fans to see Laine as a ”villain” because of his shot and hits (that one on Pearson just after Sbisa hit him was nice) but seeing Little got hurt by puck I feel pity to those who have to block his onetimers. Kudos to Tanev. Gutsy brothers!

Give Maurice some credit guys , with all the injuries the easy thing to do would be leaving Scheif and Wheeler together . I liked the lines and we won so good on Maurice . Now he just better leave them the same for next game .;)

I agree with this wholeheartedly -- you have to give Maurice some credit, playing with a whole new defence, and we`re still playing well. Not many teams could lose just about their entire starting defense and be over 500 this far into the season. We`re looking good--and having Helle playing lights out, sure doesn`t hurt.

Maurice only gets crapped on in these forums, but rarely given any positive recognition, when he has the team playing really well, especially with our depleted team.

Way to go MO :thumbu:
