Been at this already, but man... sometimes Winnipegs fans (not all of you of course, just very vocal ones or just...something), all this sounds that Finland and Winnipeg are the same. When I read things from either direction, there are so many comments that are so bad. I mean I do understand. And the age is one thing but also the streakines for sniper, gotta give it time. Someone who's willing to trade him now? Good luck with that. I mean, there will be takers for sure. Really can't see it happening though. What he's done. Everyone was beyond happy for few seasons, even in November. And now he's a bust? I don't mean to offend anybody, but in general I kinda thought this fandom would be more supportive than toxic, you know?

We have a great team. Oilers are like gone, maybe buy McDavid for Laine's center. Could work, eh?

Kind of feel sorry for Laine. He is struggling but too much is being thrown on the kid.
Amen.

People love to stomp on someone when they are struggling, weirdly almost taking his struggling play personally with some of the posts being made.

Laine can play hockey and we know this because we have seen him play the game well. He is struggling mightily and his confidence is at an all time low. He looks lost out there because he is completely lost. He is resorting to his one trick, because he has zero confidence in anything else.

Adam Lowry looks like he's been struggling a bit lately. Wondering if he has an injury of some sort. He did demolish Lloyd Braud 4 times last night though. After the 2nd and then again after the 3rd time, Dillon wanted to fight and Lowry skated away. On the latter occasion, they had a conversation (looked civil) and then Dillon didn't go after him again the rest of the game.

Maybe instead of acting like selfish little children throwing temper tantrums because we didn’t get a brand new XBox on Christmas, we act like appreciative and supportive fans that want to help him get over this hurdle.
I like Laine and he has a unbelievable shot but right now he's not scoring and he is on the ice quite a bit when we are getting scored on . Not all his fault obviously but what do you suggest Maurice and the coaching staff do ? Should they put him on the 4th line so he's up against easier opponents ? or put him with Scheif and Wheeler ? I don't know really what they should do but they have to do something because this is getting pretty bad .

Helle got us a point. The team looked good in the second.

That was a good team we played last night. They played a great road game. Teams have figured out that they should pressure Wheeler on the powerplay. Teams have figured out that Laine is a turnover machine, just go take the puck from him. Oh, and he doesn't like to be bumped around.

We will look better with Ehlers, Buf and Morrissey back. At least we got a point.

Laine is no longer a threat to score and he is a liability defensively with his current level of play.

The way he is playing is a major distraction for this team and his line mates.

If Laine can not figure out his game by April there is a huge problem and it will effect our playoff run.

If Laine is still playing like this all the way to April he won't be in the lineup .

Why was Little playing sick? Why does Morrow continue to play ahead of Niku? PoMo genuinely confounds me sometimes.

He sure felt like a threat to score on the first two powerplays. He just needs some puck luck. Really, even though his play has been bad, his shooting percentage is below 3%. that is just plain bad luck. He should be up to 30 goals now.

Laine has never carried this team, take a reality pill. The only player I have seen carry the Winnipeg Jets is Dale Hawerchuk back in the day.
6 x 8.25m should be enough.

There are more issues then Just Laine’s play as of late. I can’t understand why people are so focused on what only he is doing and not the rest of the top guys.

Does no one else get frustrated when wheels and chief caught up the puck, cheat defensively, make bad passes, etc. Sure there great but come on they make just as many mistakes and are never held accountable. Instead they play in every scenario. Time to cut the minutes back as well.

No kidding..... smh.

Did Laine have any shots 5v5 tonight? He was ripping them on the PP but don't recall 5v5 opportunities

Does Laine ever get shots 5v5 anymore, you have to work for those something Lame seems adverse to!

That goal did not get scored because the players on the ice were too tired or coasting. That goal got scored due to something that happens way too many times when the puck is close to Laine's stick.

Lots of Jets lost lots of puck battles, even the ones who have been playing in the NHL for years, but Helle stopped those ones. Everyone turns the puck over, but we have microscope on Laine apparently.

Agreed I think he put Liane in an easy to exceed position and it didn't work out. Getting a shorty against was a worst case result. In a must win game I'm guessing Connor is out there instead.

All games are must win games! Mo was plain dumb to do it (Laine out on the PP in OT)

Somewhere nice
And folks

Our Jets have 71 points in 53 games with 38 goal differentials.

We use to watch this team get to 71 in mid March and then win their last 7 games to get to respectable points at the end of the year

Man that 2 losses to the leafs and flames stings !
It burns me.....

It's looking more and more that it's next year for Laine, he can't find the net and it just makes the rest of his game look worse than it is, the weight on his shoulders is getting heavier and heavier for a kid who is about to turn 21 he looks lost, Jets need to take control of his off season regiment.

Lets not start this again. The Jets do control his year to year development plan and oversee his training each offseason. Laine isn't going off doing something NOT approved by the Jets.

Laine has played with Scheifele and Wheeler quite often on the powerplay and he still can't produce.

What more can you do for Laine???

All he has done this season was prove that he is an accessory piece and can not drive his own line.

PP1 is slow and predictable, that's not Laine's fault. No one has scored much on PP1 in the past couple of months. The opposition has realized that all you have to do is force wheeler and we cough up the puck.

I wouldn't be so sure. Scheifele and Wheeler and Morrissey have a completely different off-season routine than Buff and Trouba. Dano didn't seem to have any real off-season training regimen, whereas Roslovic and Lemieux obviously have worked their tails off to get in shape and improve their speed / quickness (especially Lemieux). My guess is that they can recommend an off-season regimen, but it's up to the players as to how hard they work, and on what aspects.
