Pretty strong game by the team especially the first 50 minutes.

Brossoit played very well tonight.

Beau and JoMo surprisingly worked well tonight despite Morrissey playing his offside. One bad turnover and outlet pass doesn't take away that they largely blanketed Geaudreau all night. Strong game by JoMo both ways again and who knows if he can play that well on the right side then maybe we can run either Samberg or Heinola there at some point.

Forbert and Pionk were both pretty solid again.

Stanley and DeMelo struggled a bit and where victimized a number of times by for chances against. I am not really sure what happened to DeMelo's ability to move the puck in his own end but it has really been sub par.

Copp/Scheifele/Ehelers with a real strong all around effort. I think Mark can be a good match up center with the correct winger support and he really did his job tonight. Ehlers was much better and nice bunt goal. Copp was his usual workman like self.

Lowry/Perrault/Appelton with another real solid all around game. No complaints, this line knows its role and does its job.

Conner/Stastny/Wheeler This line was on and off. Wheeler with another missed assignment on their first goal and the line had trouble gaining a lot of traction. Still had some chances though.

Fourth line worked hard and nice shorty by Lewis. Ves looked more comfortable tonight and once he figures it out will be a good player I think.

Coaching - Not going to say much other then I have no idea why Maurice got out of his matchups and started using Wheeler and Conner against Geaudreau and Takachuk in the third period. That line is a soft minute line and our coach should have been more astute and kept either Scheifele or Lowry out against them.

Also this team needs to stop taking its foot off the gas in the third period. They need to keep the peddle on. I hate when we sit back and start to soft gap.

Forbert has stepped it up In the last few min of close games a couple times now.

Stanley should stick

brossiot played really well.

Not going to complain about wheeler he has been about the same all year. He will still help our team it’s not the worst thing in the world to have an overpaid aging leader, it happens a lot

sheif is either horrible defensively or just lazy but capable i can’t figure out just yet. He hasn’t been held accountable

Lowry is a beast as always. As much as I’d like him to drill guys more he’s playing amazing.

copp is almost a 2nd line player, he just needs to stop trying to hit corners like mcdavid at full speed. Trying to do to much

I’m never impressed with morrisey just because he’s supposed to be our number one D stud and he isn’t anything close. We need a better dman on this roster to take the pressure off and take the hardest match ups or he will be playing above his head forever.

Jets seem fragile, after being solid until that 2nd Flames goal they went into same mode as last night.

Saw some positives for that 2nd line in the 3rd where they sustained some pressure. But they are still not good. Really need Wheeler to find his game.

Better game than last night.

Oh and Connor and Wheeler should not be on ice together during 4 on 4. I was clenching so hard when I saw them out late in the 2nd before the Flames PP.

The Jets had a ton of grade A chances throughout this game that they didn’t quite cash in on.
Much better effort.
Appleton can play on our third line anytime he wants.
Stanley and his 8 ft long stick are both playing really well.

i mean, he's a professional, but wondering if missing the first week of games has lead to a slow/subpar start. that and having a crying baby at home, perhaps.
otherwise, i hope we don't have a dud.

I don't know if I've seen a game that made me angrier than this one. At least not for a while. Weak weak calls on the Jets. 2 hooks and a slash that weren't hooks or slashes, and Big Dive Dave with a heck of a performance on Scheifele's goalie interference call.

Meanwhile, Tkachuk can use his stick to turn Brossoit, no problem. The thing that pissed me off the most is how little our guys seem willing to fight for each other or at least for the win. Nobody making Tkachuk answer for his bs, and we let ourselves get outshot 16-5 in the final frame.

I could do with a few more trades, tbh.
