It really is because of shorter shift length. That seems to work better for Nik. He has basically the same number of shifts as the other top guys (depending on PP usage).
where are you finding difference of EV and Special Teams Shifts broken out?

His shifts aren't really any shorter then most. His are 47 seconds on average which is the same as Cole and Blake.

That was complete game by the Jets.
Better than any of the games I seen during the 1st half of the season
Seem like all the player on ice for the Jets were motivated. Let’s keep it going!

Yup I think that was one of the reasons that Bones was elevating Cole past Ehelers on the depth chart. Cole and the rest of the top 6 can play how Bones prefers. Nik while being an excellent player doesn't play as direct/predictable hockey. It's why his minutes always rate so low imo.

I disagree - the only reason why Perfetti stayed above Ehlers after Nik coming back was the clearly for everyone obvious fact that Ehlers needed time to get back to his best. There was no reason to put push back Perfetti for a Nik Ehlers only playing at 80ish% until he's fully back to his form and speed. And Nik was back at 100% and our best forward on our final stretch winning 5 out of 7 while Perfetti was hurt quite some long time and hasn't played for what? 2 months? 3 months? And now he's coming back after his first NHL injury time into the playoffs?

Everything about this tells me Perfetti will be sheltered if back

I disagree. I think over the last stretch out best forwards have been Lowry and Dubois.

Call me a brain dead, stupid ass, gas-huffing, moronic imbecile cotton-headed ninny-muggins poopy pants idiot who knows nothing about hockey if you want (some of the Vegas “fans” I was engaging with the other night did), but as well as the Jets played as a team, I have to give Hellebuyck a lot of credit here.

I think this game illustrated the difference between Helle and Brossoit. Early on, Vegas was getting some good looks/chances, but Helle shut the door. When we’d get a chance, we’d score. Brossoit couldn’t bail them out.

Of course hell be sheltered when he gets back. He hasn't played in two months but having him in gives us the option of making in game changes to our top 6 if it needs a shakeup.

Perfetti by the end was playing 5 minutes more per game then Ehlers and was being trusted in defensive situations that Ehlers even down the stretch wasn't.

Perfetti has to go in if ready why you sit a top 6 player that is so important to our future. His play suits bones style and playoff hockey.

I thought Vegas wasn't very good last night and it really wasn't a tough intense game which plays into our hands.

I still have battered spouse syndrome from the regular season collapse and am in prove it to me mode. But they played a great road game last night.

Connor-Dubois-Scheif
Ehlers-Namestnikov-Wheeler
Nino-Lowry-Barron75
Perfetti-Gus-Menalainen/Apples

I’d leave Perfetti out until we lose, honestly. He is a rookie who has missed a lot of time. Best to ease him in on the 4th, perhaps?

Vegas was pretty off all night so it's hard to blame the goalie specifically but that 3-1 Wheeler goal cannot go in, at that time of the game and at the score it was. I don't think Hellebuyck lets that in.

Anyone else notice that the goalie's skate did not come up and cut Barron? Check the hilights and you'll see that Knights #20 puts the lumber across the back of Barrons neck and shoves him onto the skate. There should be a suspension for that sort of thing.

Don't think anyones mentioned it yet but Apples played the best game of the season, poke checking all over the place and jumping on loose pucks. He was a big part of the Golden Showers getting only 17 shots on goal.
He does what every player does in that situation, to suggest he meant to push him into the skate is ludicrous. He also pulled Barron off of the skate, held him up, checked his face, and showed genuine concern. I was going to come here and post praise for Stephenson for sportsmanship.
