Helly was the first star IMO. Made some huge saves to preserve the lead.

I'm really liking Niederreiter and playoff Lowry. I'm getting young Copp vibes from Barron - he's not flashy but he seems to tilt the ice and make lots of subtly good plays.

I think Vegas can play better than that though so the Jets will still need to step it up next game. Getting Ehlers and/or Perfetti back would be huge because we can't expect Lowry and Wheeler to regularly score.

He does what every player does in that situation, to suggest he meant to push him into the skate is ludicrous. He also pulled Barron off of the skate, held him up, checked his face, and showed genuine concern. I was going to come here and post praise for Stephenson for sportsmanship.
couldn't watch the game last night, but saw the commentary on twitter and seems like many are with you.

Yeah, I saw him push Barron but I think it was just very unfortunate circumstances with Broissoit being so out of position he had to leap back into the pile and his foot came up.

I thought the Vegas player didn't do anything particularly wrong and his response was better than most players would show once he realized what had happened to Barron. I'm on the same side in this situation, Stephenson didn't intend for that to happen and was very responsible after. Full thumbs up to him from me.

Would take Dubois over Mathews or Eichel any day, he plays playoff hockey.

That first drive to the net established he was on a mission. The rest of the game was vintage PLD.

The before mentioned players maybe have more skill, but that meanstreak and power is just soo much more effective in the postseason then the perimiter game other young centers play.

Jets can go deep if Pavelski is out and the Avs are not the same team without Landeskog, Burakowski and Kadri .

Yes, he showed good sportsmanship after the injury. Yes, his concern was genuine. But he still did it.

Go back and look at the hilights. The Jets' Runway video has a good view of it. Watch it again in slow motion. Barron pulls his head back from the skate, Stephenson's stick contacts the back of Barron's helmet/neck and pushes it onto the blade.

The rule book says you are always responsible for your stick. How many times have we seen a Jet get a high-sticking penalty this year when their arm swung behind them and their stick clipped someone they didn't even know was there? Stephenson knew Barron was there and acted deliberately.

Two of Helle's first 4 saves were on point-blank shots which few goalies would stop. If he lets in those 2 or even 1 of them, it makes a very early shift in the tone of the game, maybe enough to change our style of play. Helle was definitely a star.

A lot has to go right, but imagine if the next round consists of the Jets, Kings, Wild, and Kraken?

I'll take the matchup against any of those teams.

Nothing that Stephenson did with his stick was a penalty. He uses it to push Barron. Zero chance of the league looking at this imo.

Your example about 'always being responsible for your stick' and sticks clipping people is about high-sticking penalties.

Not only did we win, but did so convincingly. And a very entertaining game to boot.

Too many bright spots to mention, but I used to really like Barron, but love him now. He didn’t shy away from anything even after a face full of stitches.

PLD showed how he almost single-handedly beat Toronto last playoffs.

It's always fascinating the way guys will analyze various plays to death, right down to the split second, stuff you have to watch in slow motion to even see. Maybe life is passing me by unnoticed, but I just like to watch hockey as it happens, yelling, squirming, groaning, and cheering. If it's on somebody's screen, I might jump up and down in excitement, but I've learned not to do that with my laptop on....my lap.

Watching hockey is the second most fun a girl can have alone. You really don't need to analyze every single moment to enjoy it.

Can we only pick two?
I'd add Ehlers into that group - he's been great the last few
If you say best, yes there can only be one best. Also, jets played north to south last night. Ehlers is not a North to south player. So does his individual greatness make up for change in team identity with him in line up?

Ehlers is going to play and he's been one of our better players lately - that's all I'm saying.
And didn't you pick 2? My assumption was that you are commenting on who our best players have been.

I just don’t think Ehlers has been as impactful as Lowry or Dubois last few games. You are right I did pick 2. I’d pick a lot of guys before Ehlers. I’d pick Morrissey, I’d pick Helly. Someone said Ehlers was our best. I’m saying, I’d pick either Dubois or Lowry over him in our last stretch.

That was so refreshing to watch after seeing the team almost slide out of the playoffs. They just looked so much better. It will be interesting to see how Vegas responds
