Morgan Baron this morning!

f*** Vegas were fortunate they weren’t down 2 after the first, Brossoit had the golden horsehoe planted firm in his ass. Fell out in the 2nd and the Jets never looked back. When you don’t trust your goalie it changes your approach, if he plays again I can see them being a bit edgy and more conservative in their play.
The goaltending difference in this series is massive.

I wonder how quickly they go to Quick

If Perfetti does make it back into the lineup he has to play in the top six, eventually if we move on in this years playoffs we need two scoring line and with him and Ehlers we have that, 3rd and 4th line get better too.
The way the team played last night I’m fine with seeing ehlers in the 2nd rd as I liked how we just played big and physical so if anything coming in for kfc.

I dont think Perfetti dresses when he is healthy
I can't see them disrupting the late season and now PO chemistry the top 9 has showcased. I think he may be on the 4th line to start.

You think ehlers would be coming in and KFC sits. What.

Sure, but it wasn't playoff hockey. You could say similar great things about the Golden Knights game based on their 82 game regular season - apparently, it's not necessarily worth that much when the puck drops and it says "Game 1" on the upper left corner.

I am not saying Cole can't play in Game 2, I'm just not convinced that he'll bring two new players into the team after this outstanding team effort. He'll likely only bring one more player into the team and that is without question Ehlers before Perfetti. Perfetti Maybe in Game 3 or 4 at home, depending on what happend up until then.
You could say the same thing bout being better without Ehlers we were big and fast. Straight lines, Ehlers doesn’t like to play straight lines. He likes to cut it to the middle which goes against what worked last night. I’d put him in for kfc because Ehlers is more defensively responsible and hits harder, but, we were essentially a playoff hockey team with no one taking risks and when they did it bit us.

Yup I think that was one of the reasons that Bones was elevating Cole past Ehelers on the depth chart. Cole and the rest of the top 6 can play how Bones prefers. Nik while being an excellent player doesn't play as direct/predictable hockey. It's why his minutes always rate so low imo.

I love how aggressive Helly has been playing, he's really coming out to the top of his crease and challenging the shooter. Helly plays like that and we are going to be tough to beat by any team.

Except wheeler really didn’t hustle on their goal. It was his guy. If you are gonna give a hustle award it goes to Apple and heart goes to Barron.
Apple had a great game. Very confident out there. I remember two distinct plays in our end rather than panic and get it out, possibly give away, he was patient and stick handled around. Have to be quite confident to do that on your own end when pressure is on.

Wheeler is what he is now and he knows it. He skates hard out and goes off rather than staying on. I can't remember where he was on the goal. Dillon blew his coverage though.

Connor should have had a couple more.

1> Jets Dismount Knights is a BRILLIANT double entendre!

2> Someone asked "when will they go to Quick?". I ask "how may goalies will they use this series?" 😀

3> That was close to a perfect playoff game from the Jets. They were playing so in sync, watching the team supporting the puck high and low, providing options, and it always looked like the Jets outnumbered the Knights in every puck battle - it was a magical thing to watch.

4> The Knights had 17 SOG, so we can say Brossoit was a factor in why we won but we didn't give them many chances. They had like 50 hits, which means we controlled the puck pretty much the whole night.

I'm not going to get too excited, I'd expect a much better effort from them on Thursday but if the Jets continue to do the things they did in game one we might not only win the series, but make short work of them.

We do need to get the PP producing though. It had some chances but if we don't want teams taking liberties we have to make them pay.

Go Jets Go!!

Ehlers was a big part of our turn around to make the playoffs, Ehlers makes the Jets better and that is without a doubt.
He was also part of our turnaround in second half. The 1st half identity changed when he came back and we had a slide.

But there were only 2 pp chances against the nhl’s favourite. I doubt we get more. So it’s all bout 5 v 5 and pk.

The boys played the Bones system - and whatta ya know - we dominated pretty much everywhere on the ice.
Nice effort across all lines - the most complete game these guys have played this season.

Our D look like a decent lot when they get the support they got last night - Our nzone game was dominant - we gave them nothing off the rush and made that team look slow. There stars were no shows for the most part - shut down.

Too many good things to list - but special call outs to PLD for bringing a monster power and skill game down the middle all night.
And Names - he is seriously good at what he does. The guy rarely makes a mistake and is always on the right side of a play - what a steal.

Keep it going guys - the next one will be tough but we know how to beat these guys.

If both Ehlers and Perfetti come back i put Ehlers right back with Nemestnikov and Wheeler and Perfetti on the 4th to start and second PP . Lowry , Neo and Appleton were one of our best lines down the stretch.
Yup. Our goal scoring was real good when it was

connor-dubois-scheifele
ehlers-names-wheeler
nino-lowry-appleton

id keep rolling like that.

nino has been a god-send to this team imo. his versatility, generating scoring chances, scoring, physicality etc all make him suitable forward anywhere and with anyone. can play with skill or grind-happy players effectively w/o much, if any, drop-off

Here's hoping that there is no substance to all of the PLD to Montreal stories and that the Jets make a reasonable offer to Namestnikov (UFA, I believe) although I'm a bit concerned that he seems to have his suitcase perpetually packed.
