Scheif has to be alot better as well , he's our #1 center , we need production from him . Hopefully Maurice keeps Scheif with Ehlers and Laine for a few games just to see what those 3 can accomplish together .

Yah. Too bad because Ehlers is a potential star player, if utilized properly to his skills in so far as linemates and playing style with him, he could be in the top tier level with points too. Not likely yet under PoMo's structure, "teaching system".
Scheifele has to be a LOT better in the D zone. Far too often he is running around in his own zone accomplishing nothing. Getting his horrid faceoff numbers up would help as well. Sadly, he is not a top 10 C. He should be. The Jets need him to be.
Depends what u mean top tier. He is not on the same level as Kucherov McDavid, Ovchkin no matter how he's used. If you mean he could be a great 1st line player if utilized correctly, I can see that.

Where the hell have our firepower gone? High and wide. So few shots. Awful to watch. At least Hellboy is good. I hope ESL and CLW get change to gel. If they do, we will make the playoffs. No time to panic yet.

Well you know, better luck next time. With this defense you're going to have games like this. I hope they can still sneak into the playoffs.
To my eyes, Laine's shot hasn't been what it once was. When he gets open looks, he misses the net half the time. Not sure how you blame PM for that. Good thing he is playing a more physical game.as he would be totally useless otherwise.

Also like Gustafsson in over Appleton, Gus seems to accomplish more with the little amount ice time he gets! Appleton has been a dud this whole season, hardly looks like he belongs in the NHL!

First of all, was the NHL trying the new black tennis ball last night instead of a puck? What was up with the ice?
I'm not sure I've seen the Jets slower or last to pucks more than I did in the first 30 minutes of last night. Guys actually standing around. They didn't cope with the neutral zone flood the Kings employed. The Kings did a masterful job of neutralizing the Jets speed and the Jets didn't help themselves by not skating.
Morrissey obviously is not healthy. He got turned hard on that goal by Kopitar, so unlike him. Laine with a couple horrid turnovers, one leading to the first goal against. He played much better later on, but his shot does not have the accuracy it once did.
So many fans on shots and passes.
I'm sure this will somehow reinforce how horribad our defense is but when you look at the goals, it's hard to pin many on the D. The whole team looked slow - to skate and to think.
This team might need a new coach - I like Maurice despite his foibles but I think this team needs a new voice at the helm.
