Worst first period of hockey I can recall from Jets 2.0. Another game where the coach doesn't have the team ready to play.

Watching Helle was why that game was worth watching. Shame that we blew it for him.

People need to realize that Morrissey is not injured, he is simply not the same without a partner like Trouba. We need Buf back. Or a trade for top 4 D.

Our scoring is way down because our D are so bad that our forwards are way back all the time. Maurices version of team defense doesnt look good. 5v5 scoring is abysmal. Our zone entry boils down to extreme use of dump and chase/aound the boards and pray. And we are still running around like Keystone cops in our own zone.

Our PK has found a new level of passivity.

Our Pplay can't gain the zone. If it does miraculously get set up, everyone has it figured out. Pressure Wheeler and he will caugh it up. Pplay 2 is better than pplay 1.

We need to figure out the Buf situation fast. We need help on D badly. The new version Jets is bad. We knew the D was bad, but because of that the team structure does not make proper use of our skilled forwards.

I feel like I witnessed a miracle - the parting of 55 & 26. You know it was bad in Maurices eyes when that happens.

I am still really enjoying watching the Jets this year. I have very few expectations for the team. So almost anything good that happens is a bonus. Last night it was fun, in a way funny to see us in that game given our first 30 minutes. Thank Helle.

I agree with most of what u said but Morrissey looks much slower after coming back from the injury and having a revolving door of partners ain’t helping him at all

I think this is how the season is going to go , some good games and some bad games . Don't know if the good will outnumber the bad yet though . As bad as they played the first half of that game if the PP goes 2 for 5 we win , gotta think the PP is going to get better than it has , hopefully before it's too late .

Not too concerned after that one. We got dominated in the first and Helle played great. For the vast majority of the 2nd and 3rd we carried the play. How many open nets did we miss? Off the top of my head I can recall Connor next to the net, Little in front, and Pionk on his rush, and I'm sure im missing 1-2 more. We bury literally any of those and we are in OT

If a lot of things go different - the Jets could have won.

The power play's current set up is not efficient. I would suggest moving Laine around to get him some different looks, and to give him the opportunity to create offense. Ehlers should be on the first unit as well.

He's a power forward now.

Yep, with the delicious prospect of “blowing a guy up.” PoMo finally realizing his dream of turning a generational sniper into Mark Letestu 2.0.

I figured we’d be a fun, high-scoring, over-achieving team that lost a lot of games. Instead we’re a dull, frustrating, gaffe-prone, low-scoring, under-achieving team that’s losing a lot of games. Yay for confounding expectations, I guess?

On the post game show on the radio whoever it was that was with Kevin O (can't remember, pretty sure I was drunk), said the Jets need to make their zone exits as a group with shorter passes.

That being the case my question is, can Chris Steveler skate?

Listen, we can't expect the Jets to keep up with a young, fast team like the *checks notes* ...Los Angeles Kings...
40+ shots against again!! W T Heck? Even with a"world-beater-goalie" like Price in Mtl and King Henrik in NYR have proven that a young D poorly system coached team cannot win enough! And do the Jets have a "world-level" goalie?
Probably not. Good luck until some kinda's shake up happens.

... yes, hitting the net would help.
Of course, if Hellebuyck hadn't been in the zone, I wouldn't have been surprised if the Kings had 7 or 8 goals.

Hey. Not bad idea to look into. Give him the ball, ahh puck, and "rush it through them at the blue-line" . Then everybody rush the net and Strev's can slam it in.
New system Jets hockey, eh! We should have tried that with Buff!!
BTW, Buff is likely done. A cousin in Mpls of mine spotted him on a cruiser boat this weekend with his feet up, gut hanging out tilting back of few brown necks and enjoying a plate of chow that 4 adults could have easily shared, on Lake Calhoun. No where near ice yet or skates or hockey sticks!
He appears to be loving the "lake life" before itsfrozen, and a fishing rod instead of hockey sticks.

if it was up to me he gets his 9 games and sent packing. he does things well but also some things not so well. go work on those not so well things and come back next year or year after
So I'm not the only one who sees that he does things not so well (for awhile I thought there was something wrong with me, lol)? I agree that the Calder will have to be sacrificed and the Norris and Hart will have to wait. If he's every to help us as a top 4 defenseman in this league, don't throw him in the lava pit that we currently have. If he was actually helping us win on a consistent basis, obviously I wouldn't say that. However, unless a lot of things that have absolutely nothing to do with Heinola change soon, we're not making the playoffs anyways. Scheifele spent time in the AHL, Morrissey spent time in the AHL, Connor spent time in the AHL, and there's absolutely no way Heinola should be thrown to the wolves any longer than he has been.

A few thoughts:
Pionk is looking very good. I think he'll round into a very good number 3 or 4 offensive Dman.
Is Roslovic just the unluckiest player in Jets history or is there something else? He comes so close so often.
We need the old Morrissey back real soon.
Despite his accuracy issues, Ehlers is absolutely indispensable to this team. He’s always creating something.
The team really turned it on when Scheifele and Wheeler were split up. They were all waiting for it to finally happen. Can’t believe it did.
Roso's lack of consistent finish is why he's never stuck on the top six. Kinda like a Petan with more ice time.

I would hope this team is coached well enough to always play well at least. Some.of these games are horrific

First game in person this year. Holy **** we stink.
Nose plugs with a Jets logo might be the next popular item at the Bell'!
Just kidding. What did you expect? The Kings are the new power-house team to be reckoned with. Our 1/2 AHL/Euro-League roster should not expect to compete and actually win.

I read some NHL team was beaten this year by a non-NHL caliber players Euro team. Probably Philly but it could have been the Kings.

Last 4 games I recall seeing missed net after missed net shots thatwere close beating the goalies! "Poor luck", I think not so much by now. Shooters have to bear down and find their spots, soon. Or it will be a long season of so close, not again, out of contention for sure.
