I do think part of the problem with this team especially on the PP is that carry into the zone, stop, and pass back to the point. How about just once in a while keep going right to the net. Connor does the stop and pass back all the time, go to the net and get your nose dirty once in a while.

I’m not a Jets fan, but Winnipeg will play in the cup finals this year.

He is in the worst slump that I've ever seen him in. 10 games left to shake it before the playoffs.

I have missed most of the recent games but it seems odd they keep playing him with 55 when he is slumping? KC’s best season by a long shot was with PLD so I don’t know why they wouldn’t put them together for a bit here to try to get Kyle out of his funk?

Agreed. I’d flip KC and Ehlers and see how it goes.

It’s can’t hurt and that is coming from a poster who rarely talks about line combinations. I get it scorers get in slumps but at some point coach’s usually shake it up. Either way I am happy for a win against a team that has been red hot lately for some unknown reason.

They flipped the Centres last night for the third. Schweelers and 81-80-62.

Agreed on the Apples comment, I've thought that he has done absolutely nothing for several games now. Not sure what has happened with him as he used to be a much more impactful player.
I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but Apples was a serious net crasher in his first three dozen games, as he broke into the league. Inexplicably, that chaotic element is largely missing now from his game.

Exactly right. :)

Nino does this, a little.

For all my money, as long as the bikinis and the speedos appear in fair and proportionate numbers, there's nothing wrong with a salacious infusion to our fanbase :)
I agree that proportions are important and are to be considered before anyone posts a pic of themselves (or others) in skimpy beachwear

Gentle reminder that speedos and bikinis are not a right, they are a privilege lol

Well that was a big 2 points. Played a good 1st and third but where Mia in the second. I still don't understand what we are trying to do in the ozone. We are either trying to grind below the hash marks or puck to the point and shoot.

Contrast that to what the Coyotes did in the second. They used the entire offensive zone in the second. They skated quick and used interchanges, switches and constant motion to pull our team out of shape constantly. We need this back in our offensive game plan. We had this to some extent earlier in the year but for whatever reason it hasn't been in our repertoire for a while now.

I thought the PP started getting better looks in the third when we started to add some wrinkles to it. Dubois taking it to the net opened up other avenues. We need more variety like that as it will make things harder to defend.

PK was great once again.

Helle was excellent

Top 6:

Started seeing more of the Dubois that was a force earlier in the year.

Ehlers continued his run of good play and production.

Conner and Wheeler tried hard but couldn't get anything to drop. Blake needs to shoot when in grade A positions more.

Mark was not great, he was careless defensively in the second and it bit us once and if not for a goal post and a ridiculous Helle save would have bitten us again.

Bottom 6 played a hard grinding game.

Defense I thought were all solid but not amazing.

Yep, even 5v5 this team just insists on playing perimeter, low to high hockey. Nobody drives the middle lanes and pushes the D back towards their goal line, the cycle rarely if ever gets the puck into the small spaces in tight beside the net, just rims it back to the point for either a lame shot from the blue line or to rim it back down low. The PP is just static as hell, that’s if they can even set it up. Their failure to consistently gain the zone is an indication of how easy it is to gap the Jets up, it’s exacerbated 5v5. They are an easy team to hold up at the blue line because they play everything East-west.
Something has to change, it’s killing them all over the ice.
