no way Petry wanted to play here. so here you have it
7th D man then or AHLI haven't seen a ton of him, but he's a very poised guy in his own zone. Always looks calm and careful and doesn't seem to get rattled with the puck on his stick.
Doesn't seem to have much in the way of offensive instincts, but is generally quite reliable and usually makes the safe play. He moves the puck pretty well, but there's no creativity in him at all, it's usually very safe and he plays a very predictable game.
I don't know much about his shot, but from what I've seen, there really isn't much of an offensive element to his game at all.
nope no young D man going , unless a bigger dealI wonder if they want to trade a Barron or a Mailloux. With Reinbacher now, I think one of those guys will end up being traded.
I feel like Barron is being groomed as the eventual Matheson replacement, so I feel like he may end up in Laval again as he won't be getting much PP time to start. I feel like we have to start giving all these guys icetime though we have decisions to make with Reinbacher and Hutson coming in in a year or two. Pump up their value and trade who isn't a long-term plan. And hopefully neither Harris nor Xhekaj got to Laval.
He'll never be a top 4 that's for sure. But he shot R and is not small. Could become a good 3rd pairing guy we'll see. He's the same age as Suzuki too so fit the window. At worse he'll help us lose for another year roflI haven't seen a ton of him, but he's a very poised guy in his own zone. Not me.. he just had 0 value without retentionI thought he'd have better value than this at 50% retained TBH.
If they’re going to trade one of those guys it’s going to be for something significant I’m surenope no young D man going , unless a bigger deal
Lindstrom is just a guy, they're not making this trade "for" Lindstrom.
I'm pretty confident the Oilers would be on his no trade list. Some contenders were sleeping on the job. Like the Oilers. Hold this L.
who is the bird?A little birdie told me that they actually *did* trade specifically for Lindstrom. He was who they wanted out of Detroit and apparently the Wings said no at first and Montreal engaged with another team about a possible Petry deal when the Wings doubled back and agreed to move Lindstrom.
Does he have more upside than Kovacevik is what I'd like to know. He'll never be a top 4 that's for sure. But he shot R and is not small. Could become a good 3rd pairing guy we'll see. He's the same age as Suzuki too so fit the window. At worse he'll help us lose for another year rofl
There was no scenario where he could have remotely fathomed Montreal reacquiring him and would not have seen the need to even list them which in effect gave him a 16 team NTC. He clearly reaffirmed to Hughes that he did not want to go back to Montreal where his wife would be the subject of abuse. If Petry wasn't willing to play in Montreal then he would have had Montreal on his NTC. 'Petry didn't want to be here so the return is lowered' sounds like hogwash to me.
I'd have played him if that's the best we could get.
Interesting, I look at him as a generic 6-7 but I guess at 24 he makes sense as a target when the alternative offers were likely just other teams sending back their own equivalents to Chris Wideman to even out contract slots.A little birdie told me that they actually *did* trade specifically for Lindstrom.
