The left side is stacked with prospects in Romanov, Harris, Guhle, Xhekaj, Norlinder and Struble, plus they have Edmundson as a young enough veteran D that, to me, is needed to help develop a youngster. Montreal is still bare on the right side with only Barron and Mailloux that have higher end upside.

Montreal will need to deal someone from the left side for a d from the right side. Who that is remains to be seen.

1 of those LD's likely plays the right side...

I think Romanov, Harris, and Guhle definitely make it. Hopefully Barron and Mailloux do on the right. So that leaves one of spot for Norlinder, Struble, Xhekaj, and Fairbrother.

Harris can play RD but that's when he is more mature (NHL standards). Not until he is 24+. He turns 22 in July so it's hard to say how his maturity falls into place over the next season or two.

Worse case, I feel Harris can play RD when he is 25+. And Savard's contract expires right before Harris's age 25 season. Timing might be right.

However, things will change as time moves forward. Maybe Anderson is traded for a young RD or we draft one and sign a depth piece to bridge the gap.

I tend to think a lot of these prospects are going to be NHL ready by 22, 23, latest 24. I see Romanov, Guhle, and Harris all being ready at the latest by the year after next. So, either Eddy is moved after this season, or Harris or Romanov play the right side next season, imo.

Plus Norlinder, Fairbrother, Xhekaj, and/or Struble may be ready by then too.

It's a great problem to have. But I expect the cup to be overflowing rather quickly. Hopefully HuGo know how to use the extra assets to acquire good young players to fill needs up front or in goal - or on the right side on D.

Not sure how it all plays out and when they are ready vs when they are providing impact. Being ready is different than being a force with maturity.

Also, for as much as I like them as you do, some of them will disappoint. That's why I like our quantity and development track so much. Where 3 disappoint, 1 shines.

Its a good problem to have. With time, we can package a couple of these prospect for an established player or an A prospect.

Struble's meme game on point

According to this, chances are Struble will go back to Northeastern next year. NE's Director of Athletics, Jim Madigan, and the head coach, Jerry Keefe, say that they feel Struble should do something similar to Jordan Harris. Last year, Struble was one of a rotating players who wore an A throughout the year. And that he will become the guy on the back end, similar to Harris.

In 3 NCAA seasons he has not shown a whole lot in my estimation.
Not a prospect I expect to make it in the pro ranks but would be ecstatic to be wrong.

Harris said he would play 4 years then sign with the Habs. Struble never said that, I'm expecting him to pull an Adam Fox and sign with Boston (hometown/favorite team) or a nearby US team.

Maaaybe having Harris here + MSL/HuGo will convince him to sign but he hasn't said anything to that effect, contrary to Harris & Farrell.

He is gonna be lucky to become a top 6 regular dman. Not a big miss if he does

Hughes is close with Struble and his family. There's no way Struble doesn't sign with us.
