Nothing delusional about it. Edvinsson is the same size as Hedman and is objectively playing better defense than Hedman was at the same age. however he is not even in the same galaxy as Hedman offensively and he’s almost certainly not going to get there either.
Hedman at 18 in the SHL: 21 points in 43 games
Edvinsson at 18 in the SHL: 19 points in 44 games

Hedman at 21 in the NHL: 23 points in 61 games
Edvinsson at 21 in the NHL: 21 points in 50 games

Hedman currently - 25 EVP
Edvinsson - 20 EVP

Totally fair and reasonable to not expect Edvinsson to develop into a top PP QB like Hedman did, but I have no idea why we have to pretend they're not "in the same galaxy".

You’re right. Really just limiting my expectations but the stats are similar so far.

Not sure how Detroit fans feel about there team, but this habs fan is loving the way the kids are growing and having fun on the ice.

Breath of fresh air compared to bargain bin days.

Considering the recent run has been driven by the core and the young kids, Wings fans are feeling pretty good as well.

Dach isn’t good and Laine just got benched again. This is for all the habs fans insisting laine was going to be different for them and that dach will actually be a difference maker. It’s funny how as soon as habs fans started to try and make fun of Detroit and gloat about their team, they tanked down the standings and Detroit passed them while winning head to head. Montreal has absolutely great prospects and are on the right track, but the way some Montreal fans were talking about them in comparison to Detroit was insane. Detroit is ahead right now, but that could change in the future.

They are neck and neck in the standings but Detroit is somehow ahead. Detroit fan i presume.

Very close in the standings, but Habs current core is a bit younger and they have by far the best prospect (Demidov), so I think they win.
Agreed. I also think the Habs have the best young D man, Hutson. Wings have good players too, but Hutson (imo) is the difference maker.

They're so close. Built very similarly too - both lacking another top end 1/2C to help Larkin and Suzuki. Good bottom 6 tho. Average goaltending but bright future.

Momtenbault > wings goalies
Dobes & Fowler | Cossa & Augustine (up for debate)

Habs have CC, wings have debincrat
Habs have hutson, wings have Seider.

Habs also have Demidov and Reinbacher lurking in the background. Don't know enough about wings prospects to comment but I feel real good about the Habs right now.

It's neck and neck currently but i do expect the gap to widen in favor of Habs come next hear once we get our two recent #5 picks on the roster

Holy f*** that guys huge. Was he just useless in his draft year why did he not go higher
HOLY where did this guy come from!!?? @TheMule93 @nbwingsfan @ voodoo skulls
Hakan Anderson 6th round Swedish special. Huge 18 yr old with hands, poor skating, and sushi raw turned into an interesting NHL prospect. Figuring out how to throw his size around and disrupt with his reach this year it seems.
