This is also likely but lying right after your GM said he did talk to the players makes them look so dumb lol. Like the clip showed, it was seamless from Holland saying yes I talked to them to Jackson saying no "WE" didn't consult them.

I'm so over the Oilers at this point. It's just not worth it.


Coffey isn't even in the top 1000 hires available for coach or GM and shouldn't touch an NHL bench after getting fired for slurs. Knoblauch is a good, but offensive coach, with no pro experience and was hired based on Jackson's experience with him, and overall lack of experience

This really is McDavid's team now lol. And Coffey is GM? Wow.

You have zero knowledge and so do I on this matter. I will attest to that.

But we can all see is what is unfolding.

Coffey has immense influence and now has established himself directly into the dressing room and daily operations at the field general level. I can only guess that he can bypass JJ and speak direct to the jock sniffing owner about what he thinks needs doing without speaking with JJ to see if it fits with his vision and long term strategy.

It’s a f***ing joke.

That clip is something else. Can see Hollands senility in real time. Now imagine him trying to negotiate a contract or a trade.

Not gonna lie, I have this tiny little voice in my head making me wonder about the strings being pulled behind the curtain, and who pulls them and when. Everything about McDavid running the team is just as likely to be a long running distraction as it is to go away. It really seems like a bad situation brewing during the most crucial years of this team.

As far as I can tell Coffey is an advisor to Katz. So this is obviously a Katz decision.
What kind of statement is this on Knobby? Katz's little spy is going to report back to the big guy on whats going on?
This is a joke. Katz hires fools like Bobby Burgers and then he is puzzled why the team isnt succeeding so he has his buddy sit on the bench so he can get intel? LOL

Its embarrassing as hell. Its the kind of crap that Katz was pulling back when he bought the team

The whole thing is a mess. Holland should have been fired and publicly humiliated. He would rather the Red Wings win than the Oilers. I bet he tries to trade 29 to the Wings for a bucket of pucks and a back up goalie Before the end of the season.

I can buy that he's just a placeholder until the full crew can be figured out. Same reason Gulutzan is still here, plus he's filled in admirably before and the players obviously like him. Coffey is not the GM so far....

I think this stuff happens a lot in hockey honestly. And not just the Oilers. I think the Owners and their advisors mettle in things all the time. GM obviously has a lot of say but they are similar to a coach where they are the fall guy at times.

Should be interesting to hear how Coffey will impart his wisdom in playing solid defence to a bunch of guys that have no clue.;) And then also tell them how to score batches of points.
