So it is all linear then? What one coach does somewhere with different human beings will 100% correlate to the Oilers? And has made the playoffs once.
So we replace Woody with objectively a worse coach. Why???
Do you think these guys would play hard for Sutter? I actually like the guy but I don’t think it would work with this team.Losing will also make them leave.
I want them to be held accountable, I want a coach to be hard on them and to preach that there's two ends of the ice, I don't want coaches constantly catering to them by playing them too much while alienating the rest of the team and putting them together when they can't co-exist with linemates.Do you want Connor and Drai not to re-sign? Because hiring Sutter will make them leave.
It’s easy to outchance teams when you throw a bunch of muffins from the outside and half the shots you give up are in the slot and end up in the net.It takes team effort to win Corsi. You don’t out shoot and out chance by the margins we are seeing by not putting in effort. We aren’t losing cause we’re mailing it in and being lazy. We’re losing cause we are make glaring mistakes whilst getting League worst goaltending whilst the offensive execution and confidence has gone into a deep dry spell. Lots of things that may not be on the coaching.
The Titanic was the largest one.Rearranging deck chairs on the penis.
Somebody make some tinfoil hats for themIt’s purely conjecture that he had anything to do with this hire. Christ, the conspiracy theorists run deep with this fan base.
Yes. Cause they want to Win and Sutter has a way of convincing teams he can provide the path. Yes eventually the shelf life thing happens with Sutter, it’s a risk but with how Sutter’s system can change things drastically it may be worth that risk.Do you think these guys would play hard for Sutter? I actually like the guy but I don’t think it would work with this team.
Also easy to out corsi when you are behind and the opposing team isn’t pushing anymore. It’s easy to outchance teams when you throw a bunch of muffins from the outside and half the shots you give up are in the slot and end up in the net.
There’s a reason why no one pays attention to Corsi anymore.
That’s likely what Coffey is for, he has Katz’s ear and his job is as safe as Schwartz’s…lol.I want them to be held accountable, I want a coach to be hard on them and to preach that there's two ends of the ice, I don't want coaches constantly catering to them by playing them too much while alienating the rest of the team and putting them together when they can't co-exist with linemates.
Sutter won't put up with that shit. I actually want them to feel uncomfortable, that might be exactly what they need to round out their games and have their "Yzerman" moments. It's what Bowman did for Stevie Y. and Bowman was one of the more unlikeable coaches to play with.
If they can't handle hard coaching then they aren't willing to do what it takes to win.
Maurice Richard was a terrible NHL Coach. Wayne Gretzky, a horrible NHL coach as well. Being an accomplished player means f*** all when it comes to transitioning to coaching. It’s why you look for someone who cut their teeth in various roles proving that they ARE effective. The Oilers aren’t in a position for Coffey to be apprenticing as a coach. I’m not saying he couldn’t develop into a quality coach, but he has done nothing to make it his vocation and the current situation demands high level, effective people in these roles NOW, not someone that is going to learn in his first NHL a assistant coach assignment. Heck even the rest of his coaching experience is very scant.I do agree with you but the reality is when you’re as accomplished as Coffey is, you have a little bit more leeway. He doesn’t need to go through the ringers and work his way up from the minors to land an assistant coaching position.
I do wish he had some experience but I get it at the same time. I don’t agree with it but we’ll see how it goes now. Maybe for once it’ll work.
Spending a lot of time talking about how McDavid is running the show, the organization doing whatever it takes to make sure him and Draisaitl and possibly Nurse, the core, are happy more than anything. That Ekholm was possibly a Woodcroft guy who represented a change in defensive play and the boys didn't like it, because they don't want to have to play harder in their own end but would just rather keep it about offense. Upset that Barrie is gone for that reason too.

It all started with the Hitchcock.Well guys, it was meant to be, right?

on the plus side Paul Coffey has been running a car dealership for a living
so at least the boys know they can get a sick discount on a Kia if they stay in Edmonton

The Oilers can f$@k right off with that.pretty bad that we have to pay for oilers+ to watch the press conference.
This is 100% Jeff JacksonDoesnt seem like a Holland hire, I feel like he would of went with another dinosaur after branching out with woody. I get the feeling he isnt pulling all the strings anymore.
It is to an extend. A sure thing goal and a goal taken from a dangerous area but with no force and is a muffin are both taken as high danger. When I say Corsi I sue it as a cat hall for analytics. We are killing it in XGF where shot quality is taken into account too aren’t we?
