We’ll always have this to remember him by. Better times, sigh.

It really sucks that he and Manson just could not implement any kind of defensive system because he did bring positives to the table offensively.

Hated the lazy starts though.

When you lose 8-1 on opening night, in part that has to be because your coach did not have the team ready to play.

Wow, must have been decided well in advance of last nights game and whoever the replacement wasn’t ready (or in place) until today.

The logical thing to do would have been to axe him after the San Jose game

Instead, Hyman goes all world, team really battles together to win a game, ... and then you fire the coach.

Weird. Probs the best coach in the DoD+ era. Undone by shit luck, bad defending (thats partly his fault), complete roster handcuffs thanks to terrible cap management, and what I can only imagine is a Flames sleeper agent coaching the goaltending.

Can we please fire Dustin Schwartz

Shocked this team would want a new coach, he really seemed right for the group - thoughtful, progressive, well-spoken, intelligent.

Interested to see what happens next. Never really a dull day with this franchise.

Holland built a stanley cup contending roster, and our coach started it with 3 wins in first 13 games for 7 points out of 26

Oh course hes fired, gave him every chance they could and he couldnt

Really hope the replacement is not Sutter

If this team ever wants to win something they need someone who will demand (not ask, demand) defensive structure and a 200 foot game from everyone.

Trotz would fit that bill too but he's not available.

Feel bad for Woody, it's not all his fault and he is a good coach, however it was clear he really didn't know how to coach defense at an NHL level yet and the no accountability/low intensity approach he took to the team was backfiring hard.

We need to have a coach that is not flexible on defensive structure and runs harder practices at minimum.

Under Woodcroft they looked like almost the Eakins era team at times.

Thank you Woodcroft for that BOA playoff win in particular. I think he will show up as a coach again in San Jose down the line.
I’m a little confused by the first part - he’s a good coach, but he doesn’t know how to coach defense? I know Manson is the one coaching the d-men specifically, but can a coach really be good at their job if they are bad at half of the X’s and O’s stuff?
