Let this sink in, The Buffalo Sabres organization doesn't want the public to know they (the owners) are not happy with the GM. It's not a matter of them denying the report. It's the fact they don't want it public that upsets them. Something tells me they are worried these past two hires may have fans start questioning their ability to build a winner, and they can't have that kind of bad PR.
Streisand effect - Wikipedia

This also applies to the Sabres PR Goon Squad getting WGR to pull the Tweet of the Duane Rant.

I don't think the fans' reaction has any bearing in why the organization isn't happy. Pegula has burned through how many GMs in relatively short order now? This is Botterill's 3rd year. Murray lasted 3 years. I imagine that the organization would be worried that they may lose out on good up-and-coming GM candidates if the shelf life here is only 3 years........

If you are a prospective GM candidate but are leery of coming here because if you come here and screw up for 3 seasons as bad as any NHL GM in living memory you will get sacked then nobody should want you in the first place.

Depending on what happens at the trade deadline with an excess number of bodies that can be moved (and those that want to be moved)….

If there isn't some significant assets coming back - this relationship has to end.

Bring in Shero as a replacement and let him gut the rest of it.

Not a fan of Shero. Get something in return, significant or not. Multiple mid-round picks would be helpful, especially in the summer when they need to round out some roster spots as well as taking some high-skill/high-risk players in the draft.

I don't think I've ever been so disgusted towards someone I never met. Everytime I think of Sabres hockey I have a sinking feeling of resentment in the pit of my stomach.

Thank you, Jason, for killing my passion for this team. No one has been able to do it before you. Not even during the Buffalo Bills playoff drought did my passion diminish, but you achieved what I thought was impossible.

My family and I usually go to one game every year, but I wont spend another dime on this team until this buffoon is gone. I can only hope others feel the same way.

I haven’t spent a penny on anything Sabres related in 2 years. I was planning on getting a new jersey next year. If Botterill is here, I’m making it 3 years in a row.

I just don't know what he's trying to do and it bothers me. He hasn't set us back but he hasn't done anything either. There's nothing to look forward to. Very little confidence in his ability to get the most out of a trade. I actually fear his next big trade.

Shero?

No.

Sabres need to completely re-haul the front office. For ****'s sake, please hire a director of hockey operations that actually has proven experience. No more former players, no more new guys, I'm sick of this crap. The Florida Panthers, a team with maybe 900 fans is currently in a playoff spot and is managed way better. That pisses me right off.

Has anyone ever seen the doc "The Smartest Guy(s) in the Room?" That's Botterill in a nutshell: overconfident, high self-esteem, and operating a completely fraudulent enterprise.

Was that the Enron thing?
