I feel desecrated. Soaked in the disease of Botterill. Hey, Botterill rhymes with BLACK PILL. Take a hint Pegs!?!
How can anyone sleep with this man still out on the street? He might be making calls right now for all we know. Do you want to see a Risto return? A Reinhart folly?

I just want a quiet, low-key deadline. We have a decent core, and a good GM could find the right players to support it. But Botts might trade away one of our core pieces....for nothing useful.

we also moved down like 60 spots in the draft in the Scandella trade.

6th for 6th can’t be that high, i look at it like the cherry on top of the stupid sundae of moves

Top 13 dumb trades
1. Voldemort
2. Montour
3. Kane
4. Scandella
5. Miller
6. Sheary
7. Vesey
8. Fedun
9. Beaulieu #1
10. 6 and 7 for 6
11. 5 and 6 for 5
12. Beaulieu #2
13. 6 for 6

gotta find room for Frolik too

Frolik trade + Scandella combo just got a big boost.

It will remain a situation of no hockey president.

The quotes are staggeringly horrible to me.

Good god.

so as he takes his sigh of relief that no one will be hired above him to sit between him and ownership, he throws his AGMs into the mix and basically says “they’re just as much to blame as me, guys!”

Well, that’s why I brought Randy Sexton onto my staff," Botterill said during a WGR interview Feb. 4. "He’s a former general manager in the league. That’s why I brought in Steve Greeley to be sort of our player personnel guy. I wanted to make sure that I surrounded myself with people that brought in different ideas. ... So to me, there’s always different ways to develop a team, and I wanted to have sort of a diverse group that came in from there. I love the fact that my interaction is directly with Terry and Kim. I respect that and certainly think that’s a strength of our organization. And I think the fact that we’ve built people around there, I have strong ideas — strong people providing ideas to me.

What I like about our group is they’re not afraid to challenge me on different things. I don’t have a bunch of 'yes guys' around me. I feel comfortable with the management group we have, and we understand that we have to continue to be better."

Can't fault Botts for a changing market.

What I don't like is that Botts' decision to get Frolik took us out of the marketplace by replacing salary out with a touch more salary coming in. I'm curious if Botterill had issues with finding a trade partner for Bogo because he didn't have any room to retain salary on the deal, so the deal had to be salary out salary in, with the little inflexibility the league has.

Yes you can fault Botterill.

Fault him for the position he put us in to be involved, but you can't blame Botterill for not knowing of future injuries that didn't happen yet. If JaBo doesn't go down, Scandella most likely doesn't go there.

God forbid we have a GM that isnt so god damn anxious to get Frolik that he rushes a trade and gets bent over. He had the ability for Calgary to eat money on that god awful contract. He declined. He had the ability to clear cap by waiving Bogo but no.. he once again put himself in the position to fail

but we can blame him for the timing of that trade. One of the most annoying things about the frolik trade was the timing. If he was going to sell low on scandella to grab a forward (because of his horrid roster construction), then it should have happened earlier in the season. Making that trade in january was odd, and smelled like a GM without a plan.

also: why can’t we get annoyed at our GM being unable to time the market? Other GMs manage to do it. The ROR trade timing was also hilarious
