Confirmed with Link: Jason Arnott fails physical; Deal with NYR off

I like it. It's just one year and like mentioned above, the cap is 70m.
 
He went 17-17-34 last year, 1.7 is most certainly not ridiculous. In fact, its kind of fitting.
 
Don't like the money amount but the rangers didnt exactly give themselves leverage with the way they started this season...and this a move we have been talking about before the season.
 
Considering salary cap is at $70M and he had 17 goals last year. In this shortened season he will be good enough to help. Rangers are all in to win it this year. Arnott I believe has to help in that department
 
Why is anyone fighting over the money? Whats it to us??? The season has started and its not like we are taking on salary for next year.

You arent James Dolan so chill out. We are still within the cap.
 
Been saying it for awhile the Rangers should add Arnott for more depth, there really isn't much better that is available right now unless we make a trade. He still has a big shot and can score. He can't really skate but can play 3rd/4th line center or wing position. We could also use his bomb on the PP. Good move.
 
We needed depth and Arnott is a savvy veteran who can help on faceoffs and maybe even the PP (although that's probably beyond help at this point). And hopefully this signing will motivate players like Boyle to get their ***** in gear since their spots in the lineup are no longer guaranteed.
 
Very good move. As stated above, he won over 50% of his face-offs and had 17 goals last year.

Question is, who sits for him?
 
I'm not sure the bottom six needs another big, slow veteran, but I'm more than willing to see what he's got left in the tank.

I still don't get the hate for Boyle at 3C though and I highly, highly doubt that Arnott would be better than him. We shall see though.
 
One wonders how quickly he'll be in the lineup. It took Redden nearly 6 days to get in. It took Gomez 3 days. I'm wondering if we'll see Arnott before next Thursday's game.
 
I like this move A LOT. Exactly the kind of presence we need on our third line. Now I just wish that we had kept Fedotenko instead of Asham, even with the extra three-quarters of a mill.
 
For a team lacking depth, without any cap issues, why would anyone be opposed to this move?

He's big, he can hit, and chip in 15 goals. Great move.
 
That's so weird..i was looking at the top ufa left after the game and was thinking w should sign arnott or sykora Since he's familiar with ny lol but a bit too much money given. There are also a couple good dmen left..

A big thing this team is missing after losing Dubi/Prust/Fed/Anisimov is a forward group that cycles the puck, protects the puck, and keeps it in the offensive zone. Assuming Arnott is still reasonably effective, he should help there.
