who cares how steep it is for 1 year. we got a ton of cap space right now.
Exactly. 1 year deals have no effect on our cap issues.

For 1.7? Man, that's a bit steep.
Knew something like this was coming

contract is basically meaningless as its only for one year
Exactly. No risk move that can only help - and in particular addresses one of the team's biggest weaknesses (faceoffs).I've been talking about doing something like this for months and Arnott's name always comes to mind first. I know some guys are going to roll their eyes and say he's done, but I think he can contribute to our bottom-6. Not expecting a ton out of him.
He did put up 17 goals and 34 points (14 on the PP) on 14 minutes of ice time over 72 games last season. Tertiary penalty killer.
We will see if he has anything left in the tank. If not? He rides the pine. No big deal.
Would you guys rather have Arnott on the 3rd line or Mike Rupp?
Gaborik-Richards-Nash
Pyatt-Stepan-Callahan
Kreider-Arnott-Hagelin
Rupp-Boyle-Asham
looks alot better if Kreider can get back on track and if Arnott works out.
Pyatt twice? :wow:
I assume you're putting Hagelin on the 2nd.
An old Arnott is better at 3rd line center than Brian Boyle. What happens to Halpren now?
I believe Pyatt should be on a line with Callahan.I think Pyatt's ultimate spot is on the third line. I also don't think we're going to see a ton of games with Rupp and Asham both in the lineup.

What would Arnott be like on a PP unit ? Can't be much worse then what we have now . Big guy for the crease on the 2nd unit ?
Under a $70M cap? Nah.
I like this move for the bottom-6. Adds NHL depth.
Triggerman. He's still got a rocket of a shot. Would like to see to see him at the point. Especially on the 5 on 3.
