I'm quite surprised Jason Arnott failed his physical. I was looking forward to having him. Clearly Sather wants to add something, I wonder what he does now.

is there any chance sather offer sheets subban? obviously we cant trade for him but we could offer a big contract, either getting him or at least putting pressure on the habs. we would obviously have some cap space to move around during the summer and it would be tough but possibly workable. i know its not slats style just wishful thinking

And were gona do that when we have to re-sign McDonagh, Stepan, and Kreider. Think twice.

I don't think focusing on D is what we need to do. Especially after failing on Arnott and his old and brittle bones. We could use some help up front rather than adding more salary towards more Defense.

Jagr at the deadline? :naughty:

I'd almost feel bad for opposing goalies on the pp.

YES ****ING PLEASE.

It was a mistake to not bring him back last year. It was a mistake to not bring him back this year.

I think Dallas makes the playoffs this year, so that's probably out of the question.

Real target = Iginla?

im afraid both could be costly. i know they may not be worth much and they could both be seen as valuable yet rather cheap rentals but i just feel that both GMs will demand a lot

I was thinking Weiss for a hot second. I think he might be a good addition, but i don't know about the cost. Also, ROR is up in the air...5m per though, but would be a sweet addition.

Weiss would be great, but the Cats will rightfully demand a lot for him at the deadline since he's probably the highest commodity at the C position.

But yeah, I'd **** in my pants if we got Jagr. I am still wondering why the team didn't sign him this offseason, maybe the relationship with Hank wasn't that great?

I honestly think the organization thought he was on the decline and was "going in a different direction" because they were counting on all the youth to step up. I agree, our youth have been amazing for the most part, but Jags showed the world that he still has amazing scoring ability. Mistake on our part for sure.

Very serious and realistic; there isn't one defenseman on our team that puts fear into any forward in the league. Think about it!

I don't think Subban puts fear into anyone. When we play against him, I haven't had the slightest inclination toward fear as our perception of him. Chara, Weber, Pronger scream fear. Subban is just an offensive defensemen with a bit of grit.

Yeah I think you hit the nail on the hammer there. They probably expected Hags and Kreider to take the next step and Jagr with his ego wouldn't have accepted a bottom 6 role.

Subban is on the brink of becoming a superstar player. He is already a #1 defenseman that excels in all situations, he's proven to be a big time player in the playoffs and anchors his team's defense. He would absolutely challenge McDonagh as the #1 defenseman on this team. He just brings an element to this team that they've never really had.

Ehhhhhhhhhhh Dunno. I don't see it but I don't watch him play that often.
