Who cares what happens to Stoll, he's not our problem anymore.

Yea but
What if this makes him affordable?
The legal ramifications are basically set: 1000.00 fine and an online class. That is what most people who get arrested for this get
The NHL penalties are all that are left to be discussed. Will a team sign him? Will this lower his pay? For how long? Will the Kings sign him? If not who else?
Stoll for league minimum for one year? Anyone?

It really is interesting to see how much people don't give a **** about Stoll simply because he's a declining player who's at the end of his contract and who wasn't likely coming back to the Kings anyway. Compare that to Voynov, who's career is just starting, hasn't hit his prime yet, and is under contract.

Interesting.

Ya. Can't speak for others but the way I look at it, if they're guilty we should try to move on from both of them. That's not the kind of publicity this team needs and it might have negative effects on and off the ice. I don't expect the players to be saints but I also don't want the Kings to be known as the Raiders of the NHL. If Voynov is guilty, regardless of what the court rules, I hope we move him if he's allowed to stay in the NHL. If he's truly innocent then I'll support him and really hope he can repair his image that was wrongly tainted. Stoll, I don't wish bad on him. I hope he does well, but I really hope we don't resign him for both his declining playing ability and because of this. My general stance as a sports fan though is that I do want my team to win, but if I have to choose between an excess of poor behavior or being the fan of a losing team, I'll take the latter any time. I know some people believe in "win at all costs" but imo, that's the worst thing associated with sports. Just my opinion.

Overall, mine too. You expressed what's been bothering me. Though, before the arrest, I would have been okay with Stoll getting a one-year contract at 1 million. Now, no. I wish the best for him, but I'm disappointed. How I feel about him and the situation would be the same whether he was first line or fourth.

If I wanted my team to be a revolving door of arrests, I wouldn't have expected the Kings would be that team this season.

No, he's done playing for us. I don't want him anywhere near this team. Later Stoll.

Too many people are jumping on the Kings calling them the Raiders of the NHL with the two incidences over the last year. Not a rep I like. Uncle Phil can't be too happy the way his team has behaved off the ice and I don't doubt he's express his feeling to Lombardi.

You can count on it.

Or, as our favorite Emperor is fond of saying: "You can take it to the bank."

Very much agree. He will be lucky to get get an offer from any team, and if so, won't be much. An expensive lesson.

I agree with you in theory/moral fiber, but it won't be the case. Some team will see him ,and Williams, as the missing piece and throw stupid money at them. Williams will be Plan A, Stoll will be Plan B. He'll be paid.

I came down on the "no big deal" side of this but I must say, that is an awful lot of MDMA.

I think we can both agree it's a sad situation for Stoll and his family. I keep thinking how sad his grandmother must be: those visits to the grandfather's grave with the Stanley Cup were touching.

That crossed my mind too. I think I remember seeing a video where she said that she watches every Kings game.

Same, no matter what people say about other players partying, I just can't picture Stoll doing something like this and I feel terrible for his family.

Ron brings it. Everyday.

Thank God, Stoll is a free agent! Could you imagine if he had TWO players and nearly $8 millions in cap space tied up in court cases...

Maybe we should all take a deep breath before commenting on the news that is coming out this morning about Vegas. I sure hope Jarret gets the help he needs, gets with his beautiful girlfriend, and snaps out of this party bug that has hit.

This is a time when you need the support of your friends and family. Stoll has long-time friends like Matt Greene that will be there for him. That's a good point you bring up, Ron. This has to be hard on his family as well.

So Stoll had been partying with some of the Kings in the hours before he was busted.

The Vegas vacation was essentially an unofficial end-of-the-season celebration to unwind and party as a team.
As far as how many Kings were part of the festivities -- sources tell us there were more than a dozen people from the organization on hand ... many of whom continued to party in Vegas throughout the weekend even AFTER Stoll was arrested.

The Kings have been going to Vegas annually for the last few years after the season ends. That's not surprising, nor is it that the rest of them didn't cancel their trips after Stoll was arrested (I'm sure they wanted to continue enjoying their vacation.)

I don't think it's much of a reach to think that Stoll was bringing drugs to share given the quantities. It'll be up to Dean and the Kings to sort out which other Kings players were involved and what they want to do about it (if anything).

The headline reads:

Jarret Stoll
Partying with Kings Teammates
... During Vegas Drug Arrest

Doesn't this rag EVER stay within the boundaries of the truth? Apparently, when they have enough salacious facts, no problem. But when trying to expand this story into a team-wide conspiracy, they fall way short. This headline is ludicrous on many fronts, because when you get into the content of the story, you find this:

1. None of these "multiple sources" are ever named.

2. The headline claims "teammates" but the content in the story only states "people from the organization."

3. The headline claims he was partying with teammates during the arrest, but that clearly didn't happen.

4. The content of the story names Doughty and Jones, but then it quickly claims "they were NOT arrested or accused of any wrongdoing whatsoever" in order to avoid a libel charge.

5. The content includes a disclaimer at the end that they were not able to confirm "this particular story" with the Kings organization.

This "story" should have never been published; indeed, a reputable news organization would not have done so without confirmation. That POS is just a rag.

To be fair to TMZ, they have broken a lot of stories that have wound up to be 100% factual (and have a pretty impressive record in that regard).

You are correct that this follow up isn't one of those stories. It's just conjecture with no basis, but It IS news that a dozen or so other teammates were with him. That is the (only) credible part of this latest update.
