Why does anybody here care? I would think people would be jumping up and down since the arrest makes the chances of resigning Stoll less likely! He will just get a slap on the wrist and a measly fine and its done. Plus Erin Andrews may call it quits which would at least be a consolation for getting caught.

I'm more interested in how often they clean that pool. What if someone pees or poops in there? What about someone who is sick? It can't be safe to share the same pool with hundreds of people.

Here's what I wonder about all this. If you are going to a swimming pool, why are you taking water soluble drugs with you? I realize they were in baggies, but still seems like an odd thing to take to the pool with you.

Off topic.

They're going there to get hammered and hopefully laid. Try finding a spot in the pool too.

Also off topic.

Off topic as well.

Back to topic, please.

I'll be more clear then. It is not safe for Stoll to be at those places, drugs or not. I certainly hope our other guys don't go there especially because some of the guys got sick earlier this season. It seems dangerous because bigger pools are harder to maintain and have way more people than regular community pools. Kinda like being on a cruise.

Are you a pool man? I think Lombardi and the Kings need to do some serious digging to see if this is just Stoll or has this drug/partying thing festered to other players. It would explain a lot when it comes to certain players just falling off the map statistically, no names mentioned. I hope we're not back to the LA Kings retirement home era where players come here to relax and have a fun night life but this certainly doesn't look good.

No, but I study and research germs. I think athletes who are supposed to have their bodies in top condition shouldn't put themselves in a position that can cause them to more easily contract diseases, such as large numbers of people in water where germs are usually able to survive and infect (community pools are safer because it's smaller and less people). And yeah, like you said obviously stay away from drugs and laziness when they aren't supposed to.

That's going to be really tough to do

I think the pool is the least of his worries in the story to be honest.

I don't understand why you would consent to a pat down by security if you were carrying all that gear, you'd do a runner wouldn't you?

It doesn't surprise me. Chances are, someone using those drugs in the first place isn't the best decision maker. Maybe he didn't think they'd search him or find it if they did. Or maybe it simply slipped his mind and he forgot to put it somewhere else but by the time he realized it it was too late. People do inexplicable stuff sometimes.

How would he acquire these inside if he never made it in? Come on.

Maybe he was intoxicated already? How can someone be that ******* stupid? He's been there before; he knows procedure. Leave it to Stoll though, gonna take one final penalty at the end of the season. Fitting.

 This had me rolling.

While that's definitely interesting, I think it would be a stretch to prove. But hopefully it is just a one time thing and not team-wide scale.

I'm not exactly sure what's on or offtopic here so I'll defer to the mods.

1. these guys don't go to the pool parties for the beautiful water. they are there for bottle/table service, music and the bikinis. a preparty before the real party begins at night. they'd be lucky if they got their feet wet let alone in up to their waist.

2. as i mentioned when this first got released, not a smart decision(in fact, straight up DUMB). security in LV is known to turn a blind eye but a few things could have affected his capture.
a. could have been a terrible hiding spot to and security was outright offended by it.
b. could be reports of exchanges or heavy use or paramedics could have been visiting too frequently and they were cracking down. a lot of law enforcement do security as 2nd jobs and it's not something they were legally able to ignore.

3. its not too much of a leap to think that the guys hanging out with him were indeed participating with that amount of drugs on him. that's not a personal snapper. stoll the mule. he got what he axed for.

Because most of us don't want him on the team anymore but that doesn't mean we want to see him crash and burn. Just like when people are calling him an idiot or something. Generally, since this is a hockey forum, we're meaning he's being an idiot in a hockey sense - taking a bad penalty or, in this case, making a decision that's terrible for his hockey career. I don't think anyone is wishing Stoll ill fortune, at least not beyond some justified consequences for making poor decisions.

You might be surprised how many athletes are almost the antithesis of what you're suggesting. You're absolutely right, that for their performance/careers, it'd be better to stay away from drugs and laziness, but this often isn't the case. My college roommate was a decathlete who probably had Olympic potential - was even beating Dan O'Brien in a hurdles race before falling - but he was lazy when it came to working out in the off-season. Working in the S&C facility at my college, it always surprised me how many athletes didn't take the off-season very seriously, and that was at a DI college level where you're not making millions. I've known a lot of gifted athletes who took all sorts of drugs and otherwise wreckless with their bodies. Look at Richards. Here's a guy getting paid millions of dollars, where consistently working out hard in the off-season can make a significant difference in performance, career longevity, injury prevention, and ultimately $, but has been known to not exactly be an off-season workhorse. There's a disconnect there they just don't get. I think we're all guilty of it in some ways or another. I just hope Stoll can get it together...but not with the Kings of course.

How is this not libel? It's a radio station too. Stoll should sue these ass holes.

It was, the post has been removed. Stoll should sue, and if we'd kept that post up here, this site could be sued as well.

Gang... last time... no libelous posts. No posts about opinions on drugs, their use, or anything else that is against the site rules. http://hfboards.mandatory.com/faq.php?faq=vb3_board_faq#faq_forum_rules

Otherwise the thread will be closed... again. None of the mods have time to be thread-sitting 24x7. We've given you all the rope there is to give.

“The office is awaiting the results of toxicology reports on the alleged narcotics and we will likely not have those results for several weeks,†Tess Driver, the district attorney's executive assistant, wrote in an email. “Formal charges ... will not be filed until we receive those results and are able to fully review the case.â€

Stoll faces felony charges of drug possession if the substances come back positive.

There's a pending hearing on Stoll's case at 8:30 a.m. on July 1, the same day the center who helped the Kings win the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014 is eligible for free agency.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrest report for Stoll, 32, was released Monday.

It really is interesting to see how much people don't give a **** about Stoll simply because he's a declining player who's at the end of his contract and who wasn't likely coming back to the Kings anyway. Compare that to Voynov, who's career is just starting, hasn't hit his prime yet, and is under contract.

Interesting.
