I don't know the content delimiters for felony possession vs. misdemeanor or even infraction in Nevada; but I'm guessing 1 and 1. I will research it.

Every drug charge is a felony in Vegas. I knew a guy that had a joint in his pocket and was stopped by a cop and got a felony and he served a bit of time. For a city that is easy on most every thing they are tough on drugs.

Yea but
What if this makes him affordable?
The legal ramifications are basically set: 1000.00 fine and an online class. That is what most people who get arrested for this get
The NHL penalties are all that are left to be discussed. Will a team sign him? Will this lower his pay? For how long? Will the Kings sign him? If not who else?
Stoll for league minimum for one year? Anyone?

Not in Vegas it will be tougher than that as the charges are felonies.

Yes I stated so yesterday that there were no delimiters.

Charging a felony for a joint and having your friend serve time for that is an abuse of the law, in my opinion. Ridiculous.

Not according to lawyers in Vegas. They charge everyone as a felony but most are reduced
Clark County normally allows a person 2 chances. The first two times they reduce to 1000 fine and you have to take a class. Then if you stay clean for two years they seal your record. Third time you get nailed hard. Of course that is most times. I am sure there are exceptions but TSN is already reporting that Stoll and his lawyer are working on the normal outcome.

I guess we can just countdown to July 1st, when he's no longer of concern to the Kings... right around the time Voynov's trial should be starting up. :shakehead

Ugh. Honestly, next year is looking pretty dismal right now. There's still plenty of time to make some moves, but our depth is going to take a big hit with no more Stoll, Williams and Richards (presumably), Voynov, and Regehr.

This is why every organization has a development system. Some organizations can produce NHL players, and some can't.

The Kings aren't going to miss Stoll and Richards at all, IMO. Williams will be missed some. As long as Sekera is re-signed, the value in having Voynov return is that a defenseman can be traded for a #3 center.

Not only this, but younger players such as Toffoli, Pearson, Shore, Muzzin and McNabb all have room for significant improvement. Other than Greene, there isn't much in terms of players in decline that should be back. Gaborik despite his age is holding his own. Brown is the only real question mark now. The remainder of our core are in the prime of their careers.

Didn't Stoll have a medical episode (seizure ?) a couple of years ago ?
Anyway...health's gotta come first.

That's the thing I don't understand either. If they plan on having some kind of a druggie party, then do it in privet, for cryin' out loud. Oh, for the days when kids grew up respecting and wanting to be like their favorite athlete. Sad indeed:amazed:

What days were those exactly?

How old are you? Because those days weren't so long ago.

I was referring to applying the safety argument to athletes.

You know, the good old days when kids didn't know what their favorite athletes were actually doing

Unfortunately...I've seen six near my apartment building within the last two weeks...

I CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE!!!!

Are you implying that children today don't look up to professional athletes?

All OT, all specifically off-limits for this discussion.

We tried to keep this discussion open. Wasn't meant to be.
