I was at a game with my wife and she kept asking me who #6 was because he seemed to be struggling so much. I kept trying to convince her that he's really good and she's like "well, he's turned the puck over so many times I've lost count..."
Yeah my buddy and I were reminiscing about how good he looked when we were both at the Columbus game last season. Maybe the raw meat diet really did give him a mental and physical boost.

The way he played last game, I wouldn't miss him at all.

Using the dad’s Philly angle, would you be interested in discussing rw Owen Tippett?
maybe too many rw on roster in Philly.
Sean Walker rd and Florida’s 1st might be available.
Frost playing well now but was in doghouse.
Philly could use Pinto or Greig along with Chychrun.

Too high a price for Ottawa.

No shit he hates it here and this core. Chychrun strikes me as actually being competitive compared to the core.

DBC living his best life leading a playoff competitive team. But he wasn't good enough for this team lol.

Its not these guys that are problem in the dressing room it's the two "leaders".

Chychrun @50% to LA for Clarke + something else

There is almost no chance we're getting a Brandt Clarke type prospect at the trade deadline for Chychrun, unless it is part of a bigger trade.

Stone got us Brannstrom when he was considered at a similar standing to Clarke, but Stone was more valuable than Chychrun relative to his position/role, and he was eligible to sign an extension (Vegas had to wait slightly to qualify for 8 years).

Best case scenario, we recoup something close to 12th+2nd+2nd in picks+prospects.

Another Dorion mega blunder. Dude went all in on a team that's bottom 5 in the league. Hopefully they can get something useful back for Chychrun, but I'd have to think the market isn't great.

Chychrun himself has only looked OK, but he often looks pissed when they are losing. So not surprised he wants out.

If you told Sens fans in summer 2022 that we traded for Debrincat and Chychrun, we'd all be jumping for joy.

Best laid plans etc
With Dorion at the helm I wouldn't say that no. I'd want to know what they gave up and the circumstances. It was always too early to do the Debrincat trade. Chychrun might have made sense if they didn't have two top 4 LD men already. 0 for site.

One year of Duchene in a last place season Ottawa moved back from best chances of first overall and ended up pickin Lassi Thomson 22nd. That's the history were dealing with.

Debrincat for 7th is turning unto a 24th to 32nd pick.

What's going to happen with chychrun?... The same thing.

All this in the middle of a rebuild. The Dorion masterclass.

They need to trade Chabot not Chychrun.

Also anyone quoting 'locked on Senators'. These guys are nobody's with no connections.

This is a good summary and it's impossible to defend Dorion when you consider we have been rebuilding for 6 seasons now and have picked 3 times in the top 5 (one was a lucky one re: SJ pick). The whole point of a rebuild is to collect a large set of assets and use the excess to fill in gaps.

Instead we traded half our assets for either over the hill veterans or good players way too early in the rebuild that we can't afford to keep (Cat/Chyc).

The team and environment that Pierre Dorion assembled is rotten and the stink will take years to remove. Chychrun wants no part of it.
Damn bro, you make it sound like Dorion hanging out in the locker room creating a festering environment. It's pretty fitting that you don't hold the players accountable because they sure as hell don't hold themselves accountable either.

I think success comes from the top. It starts with the owner - they have to put the people and systems in place to foster success. Part of this is investment, and part of this is finding the right people. In Ottawa's case he put a weak and unintelligent man in charge of hockey ops, and then exacerbated that misfire by starving the team of resources. This hasn't been an environment conducive to success since Murray's departure, and even then Murray was fighting an enormous uphill battle against ownership just to prevent the gong show we've seen for the last 7 years.

Thankfully, all of that will soon be a distant memory.
