I’m not with you on the Lundkvist v Spence thing. But I am ok with Grans in this deal, if you want to keep Spence. Kaliyev, Grans and the ‘23 1st is ok for me. Even if you need to dump Lemieux and Walker on AZ. Those are shorter term and not that expensive. So I’m good with it.
That is a realistic two firsts and a second value. Im not sure the Kings would deal Kaliyev. Curious to see how it plays out!

Ottawa
2023 1st and 2nd,
2024 1st and 2nd,
Turcotte, Grans, Petersen

For Chych and Vej

?

Seems like a ridiculous trade

It seems more reasonable, but probably too expensive for my taste.

I personally would rather go for the russian lad in Philly if he's available. Less dynamic but no slouch. Look at his games played "russian machine never breaks" :thumbu:

Kaliyev and either Spence or Grans, and LA’s ‘23 1st. Arizona will agree to accept Walker and Lemieux as dumps, free of charge. :)
According to Kings insiders LA’s ‘23 1st is not available for trade, only 24 1st is.

I do not believe your idea of this trade will bring final resolution to trade for Chychrun.

P.S. All last year you were saying how much you do not like Vilardi in trade for Chychrun and now it is known that your team management were asking for him.

Incorrect RE Vilardi. On both fronts. It’s AZ that is reported to have declined an LA offer of Vilardi and a 1st. Which is understandable. That’s not enough. Also, Vilardi would have been fine with me as a part of a package. Just not as the featured piece. He’s had a big season and been mostly healthy. Formulas change with new data inputs.

RE the ‘23 1st being off the table, provide a link. I bet that was worded less black and white than you’re presenting it. Your ability to process information and restate it is highly questionable. In this one post you’ve demonstrated it’s a serious problem for you. I’m not buying anything without a link.

Also, I seriously doubt Arizona trades Chychrun to any team without getting a ‘23 1st.

No kidding, but it is based on the premise:
Two 1sts + one 2nd for Chych
One 1st + one 2nd to dump Petersen
One 2nd to acquire Vej

Three 1sts and three 2nds.
I believe Vejmelka is worth two 2nds. But I also believe Peterson is worth only one negative 1st. So it doesn’t change the math.

I also think bundles represent discounts, and are often a way to obfuscate concessions to facilitate deals. So if a pick disappears from your package, it’s less obvious.

By the way you already seen this link and your comment was it is low ball offer.

Do not you think you need to check your memory ASAP?

I would think there is enough of an independent market for Vej that AZ would have to like LAs Chychrun offer head and shoulders above what else is out there to agree to a combo deal with that “hidden discount”.

Unfortunately for me, it’s LA I’d like to target for Vejmelka and other teams I’d rather do deals with for Chychrun. Oh well.

That is tremendously lowball and is obviously just speculation on the package. As for the “reporting” about a real pick exclusion, he says “we’ve heard…most likely…”. Just as I expected, you failed to understand what you were reading or you chose to misrepresent it. Either way, good luck. I hope you enjoy the rest of the season.

^ EDIT: that exercise has made me rethink my position on the ‘23 1st. Most of what I’ve heard and read about that has been speculation from media and expressions of wishes of fans. Such as myself. Bull Armstrong has said “multiple firsts plus” but he didn’t say specifically that it had to be this draft.

In the right deal, it’s likely he’s willing to defer. The “right deal” is obviously not Durzi, Turcotte, and a ‘24 1st. Not unless the Coyotes brass thinks MUCH more highly of Durzi and Turcotte than the rest of the world outside of the LAK subforum on HF. Haha. :)

I believe that failing to understand issue, bad memory and specially inability to accept reality are really helping your illusions.
Good luck to you with everything.

If the Kings 2023 1st is also unavailable along with Clarke and Byfield, I’m struggling more and more to see how they can make a Chychrun trade work. Let alone adding the goalie swap as well. Chychrun is a really damn good and valuable piece, and I don’t get how a team can think they can get him without giving up something they don’t want to give up.

Back to other teams who could be in on Chychrun, I think Edmonton should be all over him with his low cap hit. If Arizona is willing to retain, they can make the cap work just by including someone like Foegele as a cap dump. Bourgault isn’t lighting the world on fire in his first AHL season, but he seems like someone who Edmonton would be willing to trade that Arizona could want.
