I guess we can finally shut up about Parros and the NHL is out to get us, since they could easily have decided to “accidentally botch this” to our detriment.
I wouldn’t have been surprised if the league did something based on hitter’s “responsibility”. For sure it was a textbook hit but the nhl is known to take unexpected and oddly timed stands on certain issues.

Anybody else a little concerned that last night's inadvertent knockout might quiet Trouba's game down a bit? He seems like an awfully decent sort and I'm a little worried he's going to take this too much to heart. I have unpleasant visions of a similar impact to where Kreider's physical game went after the Carey Price incident.

Hope not. This guy is just killing it in every facet.

Trouba didn't bat an eyelash during the game and cleaned whoever's bell that went after him later in the game, think it was Stillman. I think if he was reeling from the result of the hit, he would have turtled/tied Stillman up instead of cracking him in the mouth.

I would be if Khaira was seriously injured or worse, that couldve messed with his head. Despite his stature, he seems like a sensitive and empathetic dude - but Im sure he also understands its part of the game and part of his job.

All reports say hes fine and will make a full recovery.

Before Jacob Trouba who was the last Rangers defenseman to get a Gordie Howe Hattrick in back to back games, and who was the last NHL defenseman to do this?

Jacob Trouba has morphed into Dion Phaneuf and its amazing to see it happen.

Last couple of seasons all the talk was how can the Rangers get rid of this 8 million dollar contract. He's underperforming. He not as advertised. He's not physical. He cant provide offense. etc.

What a turnaround. Was it Gallant? Was it the emergence of Fox that gave him flexibility? Was it Reaves that gave him some more confidence to clobber people and not worry so much about repercussions? Did Trouba finally have that A-Ha moment? Whatever it is, he has been the most improved player on this years roster and the player he developed into is like the one position that Rangers fans have been craving for decades. A true physical defenseman.

A true candidate for the Captaincy.

A hot take: Reavo should go after any opposing player that goes after a NYR after a clean hit. Especially after the fact like McDermid was trying. An illegal hit, even a borderline hit, yeah I get it. And you know what I get wanting to send a message even on a clean hit to a star player, but just know you're going to have to fight Reaves AFTER you fight Trouba or Blais or Lafrenierre or anyone throwing a big hit.
I wont be surprised if Reaves makes McDermid answer the bell next game between the two teams.

nah Dion Phaneuf was fried ballsacks the last 60% of his career lol. Trouba is better than that

He clipped and stunned Landeskog in the fight too.

Landeskog is lucky there wasn't a touch more steam on that punch, or else two Avs players would have had to go into protocol.
that punch was very close a 1h-ko lol. Brutal and that punch puts most people on this planet down and out.

they were both at the end of their shifts so it's no surprise there wasn't much going besides that

He also seemed to back off after he stunned him. Like stopped throwing punches and sort of hung on. I think he respected him for standing up.

I was a little surprised that it didn't happen last night. Game was out of touch. Huska got run. Wes McCauley knew it would have gotten out of hand if McDermid only got a roughing call. If he didn't toss him, I think it would have happened.
