I realize you were calling out the conspiracy theory that the Rangers are getting help, it was more of a general reply, and not solely aimed at you.

But, “The losing team can point at the refs in any close game” is looney toons. The characteristic of a losing team.
I am saying this has always been a thing fans do and will continue. Not that I think it is a valid excuse. We can look at a million missed calls on either end of any game. I am annoyed about the crying over calls as the reasons of wins and losses.

I get mad in the moment but blown calls usually even out.

Yes, Rodrigues was never hit on the side of head at all .....
Einsteins are saying he dove. Any and all of us would’ve at least been knocked off our feet, if not stunned, by that hit.

Agreed. Losing because of bad call. Weak.
But this thread is more about Trouba being a scum bag.
As Marty Baron just said on Sirius . "Im OK with the 2 minutes, but Trouba is the chicken wing man and had Neces not ducked in the last series Trouba would have got 20 games.
He goes for the head .....he just missed on this one.
But off topic....why is he the captain if the Rangers with all those great players and leaders. Troubas game is ass. He's trash.

Suddenly Jack Edwards doesn't look so bad now :sarcasm:

Larry Brooks gets scared away by 2 words (or one persons name), John Tortarella. Torts straight up tells him to shut up and Brooks just goes back into hiding. The guy is more clueless than Chris Lee.

Jacob Trouba sneaky elbow strikes again. Amazing how the refs only gave a 2 minutes on this one. I have no idea how he wasn't kicked out of the game... I guess Trouba's reputation as a "squeaky clean player" came through for him here. Joke of a call by the refs.

Trouba is like Marchand in the ref protection program. Marchand should have been suspended for shoving a ref and he wouldn't have gotten destroyed by Bennett. They won't suspend him, but won't suspend a guy fro hurting him either. So Florida should send a guy his way for an old fashion fist cuff dance.

i definitely understand both of these very common expressions
he wasn’t trying to knock him into a stupor.

and hanlon’s razor is something everyone should know

“Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”

point is I really don’t think he was trying to be malicious, I just think he’s a dumb and incompetent hockey player

Dirty hit, but the call is pretty consistent with how the refs call Florida games. They let them get away with everything consistently so not sure why Florida fans are crying so much? They make em soft down in Florida I guess.

This is literally one of the worst hits I've ever seen.

Is it possibly to have a more blatant elbow than this? I think they should suspend him big time - all playoffs or something, or more

I think 2 mins was probably the right call there, but I'm also ok with you taking him off for 5 minutes and a game, or several games. Seriously, get him away from our backend. Please. The best call for Florida is leaving him on the ice.

Should've obviously been a major. Plays like that have absolutely no business being in hockey.

Unfortunately this is the NHL so it's not surprise it's been bungled.

Do we get to make a post about Rodrigues throwing a chicken wing earlier in the game as well?

That's how this works, right?

Shoulder contact was first, then carried up to hitting the head area. Not a major penalty. It looked really bad when he lunged at Erod while leading with his elbow, but he hit the shoulder first. I’m ok with two minutes for elbowing

Love the idea that Rodrigues took a dive during a prime scoring chance. As if the PP was going to be a better option that being in front of the goalie, alone, with the puck.

I’ve been watching hockey for a long time. I haven’t seen elbow attempts as deliberate as Trouba’s from any player in the modern salary cap era. Trouba’s reaction there isn’t normal. His reaction is borne out of his natural reaction which is to elbow and head shot. A reaction that he’s developed cause he’s found he can get away with it no problem cause the league is a complete joke when it comes to headshot enforcement.
The tinfoil must be running low in your home.

The worst elbow since the salary cap era? Just go for the gusto and say since you saw the Montreal Maroons play.

If you are going to clutch pearls, go for the biggest ones.
