It's a bad elbow and worth 5 and a game, but it's kinda sad that Erods first instinct is to fall down with the rather than fight thru it and take the grade A scoring chance Trouba gifted him

yes missing is different than connecting to the head

If we want to get technical, Trouba didn't hit Rodrigues' head either (if he did, he wouldn't have returned 2 seconds later.)

The elbow was bad and worthy of the 2 (and would have been worthy of the 5+ suspension had he actually made head contact.) Rodrigues' sell job was pathetic.

It's a dumb thing to do, but he's not going into it with the intent to elbow him. He either needs to pick his spots better or find a way to curb the impulse to extend his elbow to make the hit.

His play is more stupid and slow than malicious.
