Mentally, if he's decided to act like a kid instead of taking this seriously as his vocation, that might take a wakeup call like being scratched a bunch, punched in the face by a teammate or two or traded. I'm hoping he gets the sit-down from someone he respects and they kick his ass in the right direction.

We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

He's 23. Development is not linear.
He barely has 100 NHL games and was injured to hell and back last year.
Calling him a "bad pick" is overreaction at this point. Granted, it's one game.....but he seemed to react well to the benching. Let's see what happens the rest of the season.

All the skill in the world but lacks the work ethic? Does that seem right? I'm not sure I've been higher on a prospect only to watch them free fall to the gutter. I have q bit of resentment toward him for that!

It appears as if he lacked the work ethic this past summer. Either that or he couldn't do as much physically as normal due to his in-season injuries.
This offseason is critical for him. If he buckles down and actually works hard (and works the right way) in the offseason, he could/should bounce back.
Adams can't afford to be so wrong about his players. He has to let Quinn try and bounce back next year so he is not going anywhere.
This is where I'm at with him. I really want to give him some benefit of the doubt with all the injuries. He's still so dang talented. But, you can tell his confidence is shot and he physically can't get away from defenders. Like you said, a strong offseason is in order for him and he's got to know it's costing him millions of dollars.
I still want him to be a core piece for us, as his impacts since becoming a pro have been strong and this year feels like an outlier. I think he still has the ability to be a top of the lineup player and play well defensively. His wrist shot is borderline elite just hasn't been able to find the open ice this year.
That said, they should not rely on his production going into the year. Get a saavy veteran (similar to Zucker, if possible) that can play up the lineup and then move down as needed.
The new one has AI…we can only hope it was implemented well.

This season is just an unmitigated disaster for him. No other way to put it. There’s been some questions regarding his maturity, and this certainly does nothing to help it.
Somewhere deep down, I still believe in the player. I don’t think he forgot to play hockey. It would sting to see him go elsewhere and score 40 - but there’s simply no way we can include him in our long-term plans. Attempt to trade him in the summer for a piece that fits better, and if you can’t - you do everything you can to make sure you’re not relying on Quinn developing even one small step. Expect nothing, be pleasantly surprised if he turns it around.
